So I've been gone for about... 2.5 years? I dunno hehe. I haven't been on EQII since near the beginning. :/ My friend convinced me to resubscribe and I redownloaded the game last night. I patched it and went to bed. It finished after an 11 hour patch, but then I didn't see a button to "play" so I exed out of the launcher and reloaded it, and it started patching again... and says it's going to take another 10 hours. Is this normal? I know this sounds dumb but I play WoW and I've never had a double 10+ hour patch. Do I have to wait out the extra 10 hours for this SECOND patch or is it just downloading the same stuff as before? Are there any patches after this? I wanted to play 24 hours ago and after digging through email addresses trying to find account info, trying to get Vista to let me install the game and download the patch, and all these other nuisances... I still have to wait another 10 hours +. And I don't even see a button to enter the game, as noobish as that sounds Eeks :c

Yeah, eeks, I hear you! Well, I was in the same position as you not long ago. Had classic at launch, stopped playing, went to WoW and 2 1/2 years later I'm back. Yes, it took what seemed like an endless amount of time download. It was a big game to begin with, and it's even bigger now. I pity anyone who tries to do this all on dial up. I think I needed to relaunch and download more a couple times, so it sounds about right, what you're going through. The nice thing is, once the game is installed, regular patching is pretty quick...that is when they have an update. Meanwhile, good luck with the download and welcome to EQ2. I hope you find it worth it, I know I did.

We had a Game Update go live today, so if you patched last night there is another patch today. But the 10 hours doesn't seem right. That estimater tends to be a bit wrong, jumps up and down as it finishes various files. You might try closing the patcher and reopening it if it gets hung up on a file, I'm told that helps - haven't tried it myself.

Welcome back and hope you get in game soon.

Make sure that you deactivate any "anti" virus program when running the patcher. They will sometimes think the gamefiles are virus and delete them
