I've recently gotten a warlock into the 50s and have been considering the viability of switching to wizard before I start dumping money on T7 upgrades.

Primary use: small groups of up to 4 players usually.

Primary playing buddies: conj, fury, mystic, bruiser, dirge, and/or paladin

Am curious whether it is possible to "betray" from Kelethin Warlock to Qeynos Wizard, and whether you folks think it would be worth while. Personally, the AE damage is great from the warlock, but keeping aggro off him (especially with multi-targets) isn't the easiest.

whatever you descide, you should strongly encourage your dirge friend to betray hehe

The general consensus seems to be that in the agro game warlocks have it worse than the wizzie. Having said that if you enjoy playing the warlock there's no reason to switch. You could look at your AA lines for agro control tools, get the robe of the skywatcher and use your deagro spells. Having never played a warlock past the low teens I'm not really sure how well those would work though. The wiz actually has some great AoE's that are encounter based so you don't have to worry about pulling adds so much and they do *really* good damage. And of course our single target spells are good too. Our game is still the damage/agro game though. It's just maybe easier for us to control than for warlocks. I recently betrayed from Qeynos to Neriak and I got to choose if I wanted to stay a wiz or become a warlock so it should work the same in reverse. It only took me a few hours to complete the betrayal. I did it in my early 60s though. I find that a lot of tanks like ot focus on a single target at a time and don't really use group taunts or their aoe's which makes using my AoE's more of a gamble than it needs to be. So, it might be worth getting the tanks you play with to work with you to see if you can find ways things they can do to help you stay alive. Good luck and I hope my thoughts help you out.

You can betray to any city from any city, you don't have to go the citizenship route. Once you are in Haven you can choose to go to whatever city you want, even the one you just came from. Personally, if you only really group and you regularly have a paladin I'd stay a Warlock and have ammends from the Paladin.

The fact that he sort of hinted at the fact that the Pally is not always in the group with the and/or paladin might be why you dismissed the idea before it fully registered. But if you can group with the Pally all the time then it would make a really nice group as the Pally would almost never lose aggro.

I mentioned and/or paladin because it is an alt I can potentially dual box with, but I normally don't.

Might have to reconsider now though, heheh.
