http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Category:EverQuest_II is good, as is eq2.allakhazam.com, otherwise google anything specific or ask here. Lots of good sites out there, too many to mention really.

Murk I just started as well. So from my point of view permafrost has been active and Lucan. But there really seems like a lot of servers have good amounts of people on them right now.

As far as PvP goes...is the game wide open like Eve or specific zones for PvP or specific servers??? How does it all work?

If you are outside of the US be careful with your server selection. Which time zone are you in?

Other than that it's just the server. PvP rules vary depending on the server I believe. On the character creation screen it says PvP next to the PvP servers

Then it takes off again.

My opinion on the game thus far - I like how in depth character customization goes. Have not seen 2 toons that look alike yet. I like the vastness of the game and the graphics are pretty good too. Running on an 8800GTS640MB card w/ 2.4 core 2 and the game is rockin! ...I dont like the fact that leveling seems to be pretty easy/fast but im sure that slows down as the levels increase. Im a bit disappointed in the fact that you cant pick in which direction you take your toon. When you level you are automatically given the spells/skills. For example : does every lvl 30 dark elf necromancer have the same set of spells/skills?? Or can spells/skills be crafted, etc? I also dont like the way we fight that much either but it's tolerable and maybe ill get used to it with time...I am still a total newb to the game and have a whole lot to learn but these are just a few of my likes/dislikes about the game at first impression. I'll take any help I can get. Also, how do I get that box under everybodys name here on the forums that shows your toon name and stats?? Thanks Rob "Murq"

I recommend reading the sticky posts at the top of this forum if you're just starting out. There's a lot of information and it might not all make sense at first but it will after a while. If leveling seems too fast and easy you can turn off combat xp. Then you will only get xp from quests, collections and location discoveries. Just right click on your xp bar and choose disable combat xp. You can make choices to be different than other characters in your class. You can get spell upgrades from chests, the broker, or have them made by crafters. You can choose a Master 2 upgrade at level 14, 24, 34, etc. After level 10 you can put achievement points into the two achievement trees. Since you can only put 50 points into each tree you will have to decide which achievement abilities you want. You may want to look at your class forum to see what other players recommend for these. You can reset those choices though so it isn't as hard to try different options as it used to be. Also, pick up any Legends and Lore books that tell you some history about a type of creature (skeletons, zombies, orcs, shadowed men, etc.) and start a L+L quest. After finishing one of these quests you will get a special attack against that type of creature. To create a sig for the forums read this post in the signature forum: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=355740 Hope that helps!
