I played a Fury and I really liked the dmg and healing from it.

I'd really like to play a 2 handed sword wielding, armor wearing type character. I like to do dmg, but I also like to tank.

I thought about SK, but I just can't stand the story text for "evil" characters. I wish I could be an SK, then betray to good, but still be an SK.

So I was wondering if a Paladin can do some good dmg with a 2 hand sword? Can a Paladin do dmg and off tank as well as a SK?

Paladins are more tanking oriented than SK's. They have better defensive buffs and hate gain abilities. Also with a multitude of AOE spells and a good AA setup, Paladins are one of the very best off tanks. As far as using 2 handers...yeah you can use them and do damage, but Paladins don't really excel at doing amazing damage (they get by though) and as a part caster tank, your spells will be interrupted more and more often with a 2 hander fighting just a single mob, or many mobs at once. I personally use Offensive Stance / Sword and Board combo when trying to do dps and tank at the same time. It should be noted - Too many crappy players play Paladins and give the class a bad rep, and then there are the trolls who either sucked as a Paladin or played with too many sucky Paladins and therefore comes here and spouts about how bad they are. Ignore the trolls.

The way the classes are set up, there is usually an more offensive subclass, and a more defensive one

For crusaders, paladins are more defensive (have minor heals, and defensive buffs), sk's have less defensive abilities but put out more damage. So, if you're wanting to do good damage with a 2-handed sword a paladin wouldn't be a great choice.

If you also want to stay away from sk's, then you might like to try a berserker. They are the more aggressive versions of guardians, can tank pretty well and can do great damage for a fighter class (think only bruiser might be better). They are also a neutral class, so can start off in any city.

Also, if you're considering tanking... you'll also want to take along a 1-handed weapon and shield. Tanking is all about pulling as much agro as possible without dying, and having a big shield to hide behind sure does help

Berserkers can do both jobs pretty well.
