Let me start by apologising if this has already been brought up, but I tried to search for this item and nothing came up. Spindlecog Auto-stitched Cowl can't be transmuted. The item is a normal treasured item, so as far as I can see, I should be able to transmute it (and I have a high enough skill for it of course). The error message I get is: "The spindlecog Auto-stitched Cowl cannot be transmuted." I have submitted a bug-report on it also.
