Hello, I just wanted to ask that, as far as I heard the best solo classes are either Con or Nec, but which one is better? I mean what are their differences? Is there a significant reason that I should choose one over the other? And which one has better pets? Thanks

Other classes are better at other aspects of soloing. such as running down dungeouns, killing the nameds for loot and not bothering with any other mobs, or killing the hardest mobs in the game solo. Or killing massive amounts of mobs at the same time solo. Different classes excell at different aspects of soloing.

Aye, the big difference, at least that I can see, is that they are the 'good' / 'evil' counterparts of one another. If you want to be evil go necro, ...good, go conjy. There are minor detail differences, but as far as I know that is all.

Summoners are good at one aspect of solo'ing, and that's mowing down weaker, average and some higher difficulty mobs and lower con heroics. We don't rely on the Root / Nuke or Mezz / Root / Nuke / Stun tactics of the Sorcerors and Enchanters. There are 3 different types of pets for both Summoners: Fighter - For tanking encounters. Highest survivability, lowest damage. (Conjuror = Guardian / Necromancer = Berserker) Scout - For dealing burst damage to single targets. Medium survivability, medium damage. (Conjuror = Ranger, though it more resembles a Swashbuckler since the pet doesn't do ranged attacks / Necromancer = Assassin) Mage - For dealing devastating single and multi target damage. Lowest survivability, highest damage. (Conjuror = Wizard / Necromancer = Warlock) Conjuror's primarily deal magic damage with some heat and cold added in, are more oriented around buffing / relying on their pets and exceed at dealing massive multi-target damage (AE) over time. Necromancer's primarily deal disease damage, are less reliant on their pets and exceed and dealing single target damage over time. Both classes use DoT spells, which means it takes them a little while to get their full damage potential rolling. Both classes accrue less aggro (hate) since their pets maintain seperate hate lists, although the danger to this is that if the pet is canceled or killed the hate it generated gets added to the Summoner's hate. Later in life, the Conjuror gains more temporary pet buffs that do extreme damage (Direct and Multi Target), while the Necromancer gains more crowd control (Undead Charm / Fear) utility (Small Heal and Resurrect) and uses less power. Both classes are desired by groups and raids, although suffer from slight over population so neither class is in the same type of demand as healers / bards / enchanters etc. Conjuror's suffer from a carebear stereotype and are wrongly perceived as a utility class when they are in fact one of the best DPS classes. Necromancer's suffer from a anti-social / punk stereotype and are wrongly percieved as being superior to Conjuror's at DPS, when they in fact are rough equals. I'd have to say at the higher levels there are slightly more Necromancers than Conjurors, so it depends on what you like about each class. I rolled a Conjuror over a year ago and he took over as my main from my Templar. Never looked back, I enjoy him so much. Have a level 30 Necro alt, but I can't seem to get interested in him very much (I miss my AE powa!). You can /join blackburrow.summoner to chat with Conjs and Necros in game or visit our class forums for further details or class specific questions.

Hello, Sorry I was unable to reply for so long. Thank you very much for the useful answers. I also am more interested in Conjurers btw. I will level him up further when I have more free time.

As was stated in the other post, there's a couple little additions that need added into the the Conjuror vs. Necro (What's the Difference?) type posts & subsequent descriptions of them. This is, simply put: Conjurors are more reliant on pets to help them do damage vs. a Necromancer being able rely less on the pet to help them do damage.

What I mean is this: Spell for Spell, a Necromancer (pets excluded) will do more damage (on the average) over a Conjuror. The trade-off to this increased dps, is that their pets aren't as reliant/reliable as the Conjuror's pets. You can take a Necro & let them break out their tank pet. Same with the Conjuror. Both goes into the same area of EQ2 and solo's the same mobs. The Necro will bust out better overall DPS, but draw in more aggro from the mobs (thus forcing the pets to work harder to keep aggro on them) than the Conjuror will. While the Conjuror will be dealing less 1 vs. 1 or 1 vs. 2 damage than the Necromancer, their pets are the better tanks & are able (though pet buffs....sustained or click-use) to hold aggro more solidly.

In the end, it's a trade-off. One class can do more damage output, but have a higher risk to themselves & the other does a little less damage, but has a little more survivalbility.

I thought I'd just throw this in... One nice ability that (from what I understand) the Conjurer gets, but the Necromancer doesn't is Call of the Hero. This spell allows the Conj to transport a group member from anywhere in the same zone to the Conj's location. This is very handy when deep in a dungeon and a new group member joins. - Katsi

One of the DPS "saving graces" of the Conjuror is his/her AoE attacks. In this case, we can bust out some NICE damage that way. Not only "Target Encounter" AoE, but full blind Area of Effect (anything within the radius, not just within the enounter mobs).

Nice... Thanks for the input. Seems to me survivability is better than more DPS when soloing. You kill slower, but safer I guess.

they are on par with each other as others stated. i choose necromancer for an alt tho because ilike the looks of the pets better.

altho the feigned death and and res come in handy in groups and compared to a friends conjuror i think the necro aa trees are a bit better especially with lifeburn but need to be very careful using it
