Did anyone else like the way in EQOA you could sometimes get really good loot off random non named mobs at certain camps but it was xtremly rare. For example the 2h sword called grimblade. I dont know if this is how it was in eq1 but there was alot of good equipment that in order to get it you would go to a certain camp and exp or farm for it off the normal trash mobs.Well it dropped off the named there too sometimes i think. I guess that game was alot different but i think that having certain drops like that in eq2 would make ppl want to go to certain camps that are usually not used or that dont have alot of named.

Ive had Master chests drop from non heroic single monsters before.. its only happened to me twice, but it is possible to get rare loot from non heroic named.

I think he means gear, not masters. It could work, but they would need to make the drops very rare.

It's more frequent at lower levels (you can get a lot of Ornate Chests off ordinary mobs on the newbie islands), but it does happen. Got an Exquisite Chest off a level 46 plain old Caiman in Sinking Sands recently.

Judt about any mob can drop master spells, albeit very rarely for non-named or non-epic mobs. Most mobs do not have loot beyond some zone-wide trasured gear, however. I have seen some epic trash mobs in instances drop nice gear - in Labs, most trash can drop some legendary class gear, which is pretty decent, and in Freethinkers Hideout, I've seen a legendary ring and a very nice fabled shield drop off trash.

yes i am talking about items not masters. And im also not talking about epic anything. Im saying regular heroic mobs. Another example would be farming the bottom of CT for rubicite armor. I think you would of had to have played EQOA to know what im talking about so can some of you who have please respond?

the only problem with having rare loot drop off of non named is that there would be people that complain its too rare and that the drop rate would need to be increased. i.e. nizara sash of draining

There are legendary items that drop off of many non named in the EoF zones. Acadechism for example, or Catacombs.

I've had a fabled two-handed T3 hammer drop off a trash mob in CoB. Only happened once in the two years I've played. I like it that way.

I was killing gargoyles in MMC today for my CoF page and got 4 Ornate Chests with Legendary items in them.

I remember Rubicite armor from EQOA, boy was that rare set. Those legendary items dropping from trash in Acad and MMC are pretty much crap, it would be fun to have some rare fabled drops aswell.

There are a lot of legendary items can drop from random mobs through out some zones (usually dungeons). Some of the treasured gear that drops randomly in some of those dungeons is quite impressive as well. (not for fully fabled raiders or anything, but for your normal player).

I've seen a fabled ring once from a random non named solo spider in Nektulos a long while ago as well (nektulos has been retouched several times since then so who knows if it can still drop).

An equisite chest already has a small chance of dropping off any mob. I've gotten two in the last 6 months. In fact, that's a big cash cow for plat farmers. They run their bots around slaying hordes of green mobs, playing the percentages that the masters drop. In addition, they get the other body loot, etc. that sells for a few gold each. Giving out rare gear would only encourage this.

However... another method would be to drop no drop components to MAKE special gear. Since you can have a tradeskiller make things with the commission system, no drop no value gear would prevent things from overcamping while giving players access to special gear and tradeskillers access to special recipes.

It'd be a win-win situation with no extra advantages for plat farmers.

When it first came out you used to be able to get rare loot from non named mobs off of a global fabled armor table. I remember farming for a fable heavy armor breastplate off of those blightrats in Rivervale that everyone though had a higher than normal chance of dropping it.

At least ins ome zones. I know WC and FG have them, since Ive gotten such loot there lately. I bet there are other places as well.

Good items do not need to be tagged fabeld to be good. Sometimes that treasured drop is better then some legendary and fabled. Mistmoore castle has some insane treasured drops. and any trash can drop that legandary hate gain belt thats nice. Overall i think good items from trash should be the exception not the norm. Farming is to easy in this game unlike eq1.

I myself always farmed that Crystalized Shield that looks like a shinny shield with some sort of enegry flowing thru it it was level 20 and useable by everyone dropped up near Halas off some goblin, people would camp that stuff for weeks.

(Usually, I dont really bother with heroic trash other than to just blast through it when in groups), solo mobs I kill by the hundreds (it feels like that at leasT) when out questing.
