Hi guys/ladies. I've been wanting to make a healer class forever, but i still don't know which to make even though i feel like making a Iksar Inquisitor but i am not sure if i should make an Inq, so after looking through the forums so i decided to make a topic. I want to make a healer that is a good group healer, but can also solo when it comes to soloing. If anyone has any sugjestions on which class to pick and why please post! Thanks!

I would say when it comes to being able to solo like a pro, Fury would be the way to go. (hey I rhymed! lol) Furies are insane when it comes to dmg (when specced right of course) and my BF consistently solos the nest (in its entirety)

Furies are great group healers, even if we're the only healer in the group. I've solo-healed pretty much all group content in the game save for Nizara and CMM (neither one have been attempted). Because of how fast our heals are to cast a good Fury should have no trouble keeping a group alive. Of course there are a lot of not-so-good Furies out there...

In terms of soloablity, Fury has the most damage potential so will definitely be the quickest soloer. Inquisitors, when speced right, can do some pretty decent damage as well, and they can wear plate armor which means better survivability. Defilers are a bit slower from my experience but can still solo at a reasonable pace.

My main is a mystic and I have a baby fury. If you want soloability and DPS, then go for the fury. I remain convinced that EQ2 really has kept their promise that all healers can heal. There are absolutely no problems with fury healing.

good choice. I have a level 28 inquisitor and am thinking of making a fury instead. I get outhealed by druids all the time. Easily. Fury does more damage and heals better than me but I can get hit more, woo.

Well, in my experience, if you want to be a really good healer, the most capable of keeping a group alive during a difficult encounter is a defiler - hands down. They just have more tools at their disposal to deal with healing, and on tough encounters, their debuffs are almost mandatory. I have a 60 Fury and Defiler, and when the group wants to hit Den (and I'm the only healer) I grab the defiler.

That said, my Fury can do the same thing, but it's a lot more work and a TON more mana intensive. Fury's really fit into a nice niche (one that I happen to enjoy) playing backup healer and contribute very solid dps in that role though. As the main or only healer, it definitely can be done, but it takes a lot of work to get good at it, and you will run dry of mana long before a similarly equipped defiler does.

The one problem with defilers is that tanks end up thinking they are "superman" after a while, seeing you near topped off mana and them always at full health, resulting in overpulls or (only happens once) the tank pulls after you state you are "going AFK for a minute". Things can also go sideways really quick if you get behind in warding or if a squishy throws off a lifeburn or steals aggro while the tank is low health. Druid quick heals are much better in these scenarios.
