Most DPS?

I just started playing this game a couple days ago and have convinced my friend to play with me. He is going to be playing one of the fighter classes, so I decided that I want to be a healer. Although I want to be able to heal him, I want to be able to do DPS on my own as well. Leading to my question, which  Priest Archtype does the most DPS?

Eh, I don't know that any other priest is going to disagree that Furies have the most damage potential out of all priest classes. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  But of course a lot of it depends on the player behind the keyboard.

all the priests can dish out a respectable amount of dps these days. I think it is easiest to get a fury to do the best damage with common gear (right out of the box, so to say), with other priests you sort of have to go out of your way to get equipment, items, and AA that will add to your dps. that said, my experience comes from playing a battle spec'd inquisitor. (have a fury alt that is 32) And that class is not too shabby when it comes to dishing out damage - it just takes a VERY long time to get to the point where you can give furies a run for their money. If you are into the regen effect of druids ( opposed to wards of shammies - and reactives of clerics) then decide what do you like better - casting (fury) or melee (warden) the days of any priest class taking 10 mins to kill a solo mob are long gone.

<p>Yeah, Furies will do the most DPS while leveling up and without DPS AAs and special gear, but all priests are very capable of doing decent DPS at level 70 when spec'd and geared for it.</p><p>While Shaman were traditionally known as the priest with the lowest DPS, a Mystic guildmate of mine regularly parses 1200-1800 DPS on raids while still being a very capable healer.  He solos Nest almost daily very quickly and easily.</p>

As far as survivability goes, Inquisitor has the edge and also does decent melee damage. Fury has brilliant DPS spells which can be greatly enhanced through our AA lines.  They also have very fast casting speed and recast timers.  I've tried out all of the healer classes and personally my favorite is the Fury - brilliant for solo, group and raiding.
