<p>I have read posts with Monks boasting 1500+ DPS. I saw a link in a few with Chars Armour and Weapons that make what I thought was good equipment seem Noobish. Was looking for suggestions and links for Chars ot find what I need. I do raid, and had what I thought was good equipment but the more I read the more I think I am lacking.</p><p> If I go allout and break 600DPS I am doing good.</p><p>LVL 70 Kerran Monk</p>

I <i>average </i>1k - 1.2 K zonewide in most EOF raids. In KoS raids I am more around 1.2 - 1.3K zonewide. In individual encounters in good raid groups I can hit 1.5 - 1.8 K. However, a few raid wipes will really kill my "extDPS" because it includes all the time I am busy being dead and not putting out much DPS. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> All my DPS is parses from ACT's "<b>extDPS</b>". You can click on the "Equipment" in my signature to see the gear that I use.

Here is what I would suggest for semi easy attainable gear to start you up before you get all that yummy contested crap. Head - Clawbound Daidem - FTH Cloak - Mistmoore Cloak - MMIS Mayong Chest - The Dhampyres Linksteel - On broker of from the cloaked guy near sage in MMC Feet - Clawed Basilisk Boots - Think these are from DT Fitz Weapons - SoD weap - Razor Gaunts - 1st floor eh Neck - MOA League Jewelery from the loping plains quest will shoot up your dps nicely. Str ring works nice too and the Paw from FTH This should help your dps. The weaps hit high enough. Now get yourself some dps and crit buffs and enjoy.

Relic tunic will give you at least the same if not even more DPS than the Dhampyres tunic. The relic tunic will increase Assailing Jaguars damage by 40% on average per hit and from my parses, AJ is about 1,6% of my overall damage. So with the relic you gain about 0,7% more DPS. With the Dhampyre tunics 2% more crits, you gain about the same if you have very good weapons with big damage spread (means non-KoS fabled weapons). Also for a monk, the Marr's cloak is propably the best choice as its proc gives DPS and STR instead of more haste. Mistmoore's 30 more haste is only about 7 to 10 more if you already have a haste item and with 130's haste already, that means very little actual effect. On the other hand a monk usually is not even close to being capped on DPS modifier. On raids my monk has gone as high as 340 attack speed modifier with procs but highest DPS mod I have seen has been 220. And both cap at 200. So maybe the Cloak of Voven Leaves (from Harbringer) is the best one with 4% crits.

In addition to the above, using consumables may up your DPS a little bit as well. It's not going to make or break a zonewide parse, but it may give an extra little bit of damage against named mobs, which is where the Raid Leader should be most concerned about killing the mob fast in any case. The useful items I've seen: <i>Grandmaster's potion of tactics:</i> This item is a crafted tier 7 item alchemists can make. It increases your crit chance by 4% for ten minutes. It's usually for sale for around 3g per potion, at least on the AB server. <i>Various resist potions:</i> Helps you stay alive without having the necessary resists on items. If you're alive more, you do more damage. Again, these are crafted items. Don't expect them to make or break a raid encounter, but it just might make your healer somewhat less stressed if you know ahead of time when these will be relevant and have them on hand. <i>Fist Etched Wand:</i> This is the quest reward for "Restocking the blockers", which is one of the quests given in the froglok camp in Tenebrous Tangle. It seems to involve killing grey con mobs mostly. Tedious, but not hard at level 70. It is a charm with two charges that, for five minutes, gives a +10 DPS modifier. This may not sound like much, but is in fact worth going for, especially for monks. - I only re-found this quest yesterday (back when it was level appropriate, I did not know how important DPS mod could be and forgot about it since), it looks to be repeatable, but I am as of yet not sure. I also do not know what the reuse timer on the charm may be. In any case, I expect it will be a reasonable, if very spotty, DPS boost. So far the consumables I know of and consider useful at this point. - On top of that and the excellent equipment upgrades suggested here, master spells makes more of a difference than you'd think if you're only looking at the damage increase you can see on the Combat art descriptions. Many of these will, at least on the AB server, be on sale for down to 2p now and then. Grab them when you see them priced that low, they will be important.

<p>The Fist Etched Wand is a consumable as well, the quest is repeatable 5 times, so unfortunately this is a limited supply of dps boost <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>Also make sure your STR is high (which should be automatic with most of our gear choices), and look into getting the DPS adorns for neck/ranged. DPS mod-wise there's there's also Tunare Orb quest earring, not many other options in that respect.</p>
