Hello, and thank you for reading this...here is a little background on my MMO experience. I played the first EQ for around 7 years, and also WoW (only for a couple months because it sucked), and Vanguard, also for a couple months. My main question is, is this game still really fun for the duo/solo people? My girlfriend and I are going to start playing, but mainly as a duo and sometimes we'll solo when the other is unavailable. She intends on being a conjurer and I intend on being a necromancer. Does anyone know how well this duo works, and if it works, could we duo any instances or anything? I don't want to just be limited to field stuff, I want to be able to do dungeons and whatnot too. Also, does anyone have a suggestion for a west coast server? Or does it even matter much (as in are there tons of people constantly on on each server? The main reason I ask is that sometimes I enjoy a good group and I don't like sitting LFG for two hours to have the group only last 15 min. Thank you for any replies, and I hope to see some of you in game!!

Conjurer and Necro make a real powerful combo, you should be able to kill a lot of things also in some of the instances together. The only problem that maybe appears is that everyone of you has to start from another cities, conj is a good class and necro an evil one. This could mean some time to level up either solo or with groups. On server choice - best create your chars around your usual playtime and check which servers show a high load, these are the ones shown on bottom of the server listings.

Conjurer and necro works wonderfully together. Just wont work on a pvp server unless you go exiled since the different factions cant group.

Thanks a lot for the replies, does anyone know at what level we should be able to venture to one another? (Kelethin to Neriak)

I play on Antonia Bayle and most of my guildies seem to be West Coast. Although, Im Central time zone and there are many on the eastern coast as well.. I can't speak for all servers, but at least AB, there seems to be a decent server load any time of the day. Im an insomniac so I tend to be on at very odd hours for my time zone and always find people to group/chat/play with. Might give it a shot. Most of the higher population servers, I am told, have a few from many time zones though.

My entire career has been spent solo/duo and I very much enjoy the experience. Others are better to talk about your class combo, but I can say that playing characters from opposing factions is not hard at all, it just takes a little more time. With the ability to port home at the end of the night the most time consuming aspect of your duo group will be meeting up. As you learn the world a bit more you will find that this is only a small issue at best. You could always betray, but its certainly not manditory.
