Every once in a while I stumble upon a stranger laying dead on a road or trail. Several times I've tried to revive these people with one of my spells. However, I'm told that we are not grouped. So they are not revived.

Is there a way to revive these people? I have no real reason to revive them except that it seems like the right thing to try, at least if they are the same faction as me.

My Warden is level 40, and I have used my achievement points on movement abilities rather than healing.

I'm not even sure whether these people have been abandoned. Although I suppose if the operator signed out perhaps the dead character would disappear from the screen.

Thanks for any thoughts on this matter.

Most of the time those people are AFK or logged. However I usually send the poor soul a message in the beyond asking if they want to come back to the cruel world. If they respond then just group with them and bring them back to life.

We used to be able to do drive-by rezzing, no group required. That was changed so that the person being rezzed had some say about it. Nice of you to do it, though.

Often people will stay dead as an opportunity to safely deal with RL issues, or whatnot - and will not be there when you send a message. The point is, you tried. That is a good thing, IMO

The one sad 'confirm you want the rezz' thing ....was they also did this to Clerics' Odyssey. That spell was so awesome. You used to be able to take that really awful groupmate and send him home, to safety, where he wouldn't hurt himself. I'm sure that was changed because there was huge possibility of abuse with it...but it was sure nice while it lasted

Thanks for the replies. I think you are talking about the "Revive" spell. I just read that it can be used on people who are not in my group.

I guess I've been trying to use a different version of "Revive", probably "Nature's Touch" or "Equinox".

I solo 95% of the time, so I'm not real familiar with healing other people outside of press F2 and spam the heal spells.... usually the ones that don't use a huge amount of power.

I just learned this week that I can cast "Spirit of the Wolf" on a stranger, I guess by hitting F2 and then the spell.

I think what those spells are saying is you can revive outside of your group .....If in a Raid. You still have to be grouped in some way in order to rez using any of our billion revive spells.

Drive-by SoW-ings are just a nice thing to do. That has got to stop! (/rp off)

Just wanted to say all those other spells can be used in combat ... and revive cant.

But for rezzing people right after a raid wipe ... IMO , it is best to use the revive spell on each person ... instead of the incombat rezzes (unless its some one you hate ...because of the longer sickness theyll have , and the short recast timer of the revive spell.

Except ofcourse if you get a chance to use your Equinox on your group(I just luv that one) ... before some Dirge beats you to it ... oh well AfK ...

Drive by SoWing noobs is fun.

That was one of the things I do miss from EQ1. The ability to help out other players with buffs "MBG at bank in 3 min" for example although I never got MBG before I switched to EQ2. The only thing that can be done in here is a single target heals, sow, and hearts/shards out of group.

Maybe that is why the EQ1 community seemed to be more willing to help each other then the EQ2 community does. We actually could help each other a lot more with a variety of different temporary buffs.
