I have seen this in many posts as an aside but never had a solid answer in the posts. Would it make since that Carpenters be given recipes to make things like boards, planks, walls, etc for changing the cook-cutter appearance of the houses? I know that one a 5-room house in Freeport had an open balcony area. I made a whole new floor doing the table stacking thing but it would sure make since to be able to just lay down some more flooring and a few new walls. Then once the basic items are in place and "linked" then they would be able to have the room upgades applied to them for a fee. It would be so cool to have a nice patio up on my open area room build up a maze in my basement to get to the hidden back room. Of course I do find that since most book cases don't hold books anyway, they make great dividers and stack really nicely. I have found it really nice to be able to build out floors using tables and rugs placed on top of bookcases stacked 2-high. Once they are removed, all I see is the table legs sticking down from the rafters

Was thinking the same thing the other day as I was playing around with my place at 4 Bayle Court and stacking bookcases. It would be amazing to take ideas such as those from Sims Online for interior building. Obviously you want to keep exterior buildings in theme for game aesthetics but would definitely be nice to construct interiors of the house by being able to shift walls, build walls, etc.

Like the idea of carpenter made items to do the construction. Would be useful in expanding their recipe list as well.

This is kinda in the same theme for this thread, but why don't houses have large windows you can see through?

I mean, houses are instanced, and the view from inside doesn't really have to match the view from outside, but I would really like to see the outside world from my house, get some natural light in the house, more so than just a completely walled off patio with no roof...

I was thinking large arched windows like you see in bell towers, shaped windows (cross shaped, rectangle, etc.), windows with shutters, or even a veranda with a low wall surrounding it...

Additions to houses in Maj Dul and in East Freeport, and North Qeynos would be nice.

The uber house would be a Sky Island Keep you had to teleport to, that had the KoS skyline visible 360 degrees through windows...ahh to dream...

I am a lvl 70 Carpenter and have enjoyed decorating my house. One thing that was always a pain to me was having to have crates I could stack to climb up higher. Trying to place items above you is impossible, you have to be able to look DOWN on the surface you are trying to place an item on. What would really be nice is a step ladder you could place in the room so you could "place" other items.

Just a wild idea I had one day.

I make stairs with ...... I think it's a T3 shelf. First saw the idea on Antonia Bayle at some friend's house. I've made straight and curved staircases.

The hard part is that you need to put something (a bookcase worked well at the inn in WW, but I needed to use a fireplace in WFP as the beams were much higher than the bookcase) exactly where you want the shelf to go. It took hours and hours to make my curved staircase in the WFP inn. In some graphics programs, you can group items into one unit. This allows moving all the items together and would really make the staircase building easier.

The ladder idea - wonderful. Make it so.

Carpenter recipes for windows, walls, floors - wonderful. Make it so.

----- wild dreaming following

My house dream would be to be able to buy an X by Y by Z space and put windows, walls, stairs, and floors whereever I wanted. What would be a really nice plat and time sink would be to buy an instance that was like some part of the Island of Mara and build a house there. Maybe an instance like someplace from EverFrost for a winter home. I can even see some deranged individuals laying down mega-plat to buy a smaller version of an empty Bloodskull Valley instance or maybe the 2nd floor of The Caves (probably dark elves :roll. An instance of desert from somewhere in Sinking Sands would be a great place for someone to build an oasis of tents.

This could also help out provisioners by giving them rare recipes for foliage.

Finally, a place to let my horses run around while I'm not using them.

Let's get rid of the 100 items per room thing. Using [painting of the sun god] for borders, which I've done and seen many others do, uses up item count really fast. Just put a message on the access window Lag Warning.
