Heya guys, first off I'd like to say I beta tested this game at the same time I was beta testing wow, and sadly enough I loved wow so much more than this, but i got the free thing in the mail since i quit vanguard, and im trying it out! So far it's really a lot of fun, cool spells and things like this, and these heroic opportunities seem reallllllllllly awesome! However I have a question atm i'm a level 9 warlock, and i was wondering how I could make my heroic opportunity "Wheel" always be the same, right now it goes from arcane storm to arcane fury, if it is arcane fury i have to wait for the cooldown on those two arcane damaging spells, but if it's arcane storm like i hope it will let me use gas cloud on the "wheel" chain or whatever, so is there any control over this and how often will i get a new special heroic opportunity ability or effect... The lightning is cool and I really enjoy it, i just hope i'll eventually get something new Any feedback would be <3 thanks in advance and hf in Eq2

The effect you get for a heroic opportunity is random. There are three options for the 'solo' opportunities where you can start and complete them by yourself. A common one, which for the mage classes is Arcane Fury which triggers off lightning icon spells and does moderate direct damage. The uncommon one is Arcane Storm which does light damage to an enemy enounter and triggers off star icon spells. The rare one is a buff that gives you some power back and gives you power when you take damage for a short period of time.

There is no way to choose which pops up, but scouts have the ability to re-randomize the result of a heroic opportunity midstream (though it can easily come back up the same). As you get into groups with more people you'll learn that there are much longer and more elaborate combinations for opportunities where you might need all four general types of characters to complete them.

As for the cooldown thing, don't sweat it. As you gain levels you'll get more spells with the same icon and be able to meet opportunity requirements much easier. Since you're so low you've got access to a very limited number of spells for now.

The heroic opportunity shines in a group setting. Then you and your group can "level" up the HO, and get access to better buffs/heals/dd/etc.. Not many group cares to do it though, its not reliable enough to count on, and it may give a wrong focus in the group too. But, in a group that do HO's and are successful at it, its defently fun

However, if you improve your spells to adept or master, the heroic opportunities that use them will do more damage.

That being said, try to find other classes to duo with to learn the HOs. There are different wheels depending on who initiates or advances the wheel. Try to find the right combo that results in a dual class wheel. These usually give you the better result.

When you get a wheel that requires more than one class, you will also notice two types of wheels. One is a free-for-all type wheel where all classes can trigger their spell anytime to complete the HO. The other is a ordered type (clockwise arrow in the middle) which requires that the spell be cast in order. You probably don't have to guess which type will do more damage

One little tip that I picked up while playing a scout, was that in a duo group, the OTHER class should always start the HO. Scout initiated HOs ALWAYS result in 3-4 class triggered HOs. So if you duo with a scout, you should always start the HO.

Another tip, the wheels are color-coded for ease of use: Red=Mage, Green=Scout, Yellow=Priest, Blue=Fighter. When in a duo group, you may get a wheel that requires a class not in your group. In that case you need to retrigger your HO starter and retry.

Hope all this rambling helps!

Good luck
