I keep both on my hotbars even though they are on the same timers. One of course is a big single-use taunt (scaling) and the other is the hate over time with the DoT. Between the damage and the Hate over time, they work out to be /close/ to each other. My question is: do you still use both of these? I was doing some "housekeeping" of my hotbars and noticed that this is the only case where I have two skills on the same timers using two different button spots. I've started to lean towards thinking that Goading Gesture can go, but I'm not sold on it just yet. On one hand it's instant whereas Promise is "over time", but on the other hand Promise's duration is only a few seconds so it's not exactly a slow hate gain. Or are they situational and I should keep them both? Maybe I'm just annoyed that they are on the same timer...

I never picked up goading gesture, and never missed it. For better or worse, I'm happy without it.....if you have both and don't notice much diff...might as well scrap it. Not sure if the Hate and deacy line AAs affect Goading, but they do affect Promise, so that might be worth looking at if you're not sure in deciding.

Found only a very situation depending use for it.

Goading gesture has no Damage component on it, so you can use it to taunt a mob while its charmed without breaking it. As you can do with our group taunt. On the other side you can use also rescue...

IIRC Goading Gesture has a 10% proc to fire off the taunt twice, effectively giving you two taunts for the price of one. I tend to use this skill only when there is a Warlock in the group, cos I like the fact that Insidious Promise also lays out damage. The chance of an free taunt gives me more confidence when grouped with those aggro stealing swines.
