I have been giving this one a lot of thought and think i have an idea here that some may like. Some tradeskill professions loose their usefulness as the game ages. This mostly applies to those classes that make gear for adventurers. This all came out of the question I asked myself when I became a raider, "Why as a master weaponsmith can I not repair my own weapon?" I know the real answer is that gear repair is designed as a money sink to make death have more meaning. Does it really though? Its not much more than just annoying and irritating as people working on a new raid zone have to use the new tinkered repair bot or wait on the repair kit timers. It irritates the heck out of me when I have to call a raid due to repairs. People should not have to quit playing because of repair kit timers. As long as we have the money to pay for the repairs, we should be able to continue and not have to only rely on a repair bot.

Specific tradeskill professions should be able to repair gear with the right tools. Outfitter classes are the ones that should be able to do this. Tailors, Weaponsmiths, and Armorers should be able to pop out a tinkered tradeskill table and with the use of fuel and repair material, repair their guilds gear. There needs to be a mechanism in place of course to make this still sting the wallet, but it sure would bring back some feeling of usefulness to the outfitter classes. I could not even begin to imagine the smile that would come to my face as I saw a raid looking for an outfitter to repair their gear. I am sure that implementing this would be a lot more difficult than it sounds, but I feel that it would be a nice way to put a spark of life back into the outfitter tradeskill classes.
