Just a random midnight (2am) thought before hitting the sack ...

I would absolutely love to see some form of guild hall system implemented. My thoughts on how a guild hall would function differently from current houseing is as follows.

Guild Leaders could purchase a home and declare it as a "guild hall".

Only one guild hall could be declared for each guild.

When clicking on the front door of your guilds hall you would recieve the box similar to your own housing entrance.

All guild members would be allowed to pool into the required weekly payment of coin/status.

Guild vaults (separate from the guild bank accessable currently by bankers) would replace the housing vaults. Guild leaders could monitor access to these vaults in the same manner they monitor access to guild bank.

Guilds could hire NPC brokers, bankers, general goods merchants, and tradeskill vendors to place in their halls/housing depending on guild level (additions of such would increase weekly rent for the guild hall).

The guild leaders could assign vending posts depending on the size of the guild hall. Guild halls with more rooms would also allow for more vending slots. A merchant board or broker would allow the guild vendors to access their sales containers to place within the guild hall. Other than the guild vault, sales container placement would be the only interaction a guild vendor could have with placing items in the guild hall. Guild leaders would be allowed to move all sales containers as they saw fit but would not be able to access them otherwise.

If a guild vendor's vending privilages were removed, any sales containers in excess of their own brokering privlages would be packed up and sent to them via mail, marked no sale, no trade, no destroy, no weight; and the items inside could not be accessed until placed as a container in their home similar to the moving crates, or the sales container was placed in a brokering slot.

Benefits: I believe that a system such as this would help guilds pull together. If nothing else, it would be a nice place for the guild tradeskillers to socialize with each other. As well, it would allow players the opportunity to go shopping for wares from different vendors in one location rather than being forced to visit several houses to avoid commission fees. This would further encourage a more social aspect of the game, as well as give guilds a greater feeling of "community".

Okay, sleepy time. Just went through my head as i was taking my shower.

Only problem I see is that its still in a city, that would sort of prohibit the use from guildies of another alignment. I would like to see houses in a neutral location that would not get my lowbie friends killed just because they are from another city.

>>>Guild vaults (separate from the guild bank accessable currently by bankers) would replace the housing vaults. Guild leaders could monitor access to these vaults in the same manner they monitor access to guild bank.<<< I would prefer that there simply be access to the guild bank from the guild hall. Access to personal house vaults should be as it is now. I would not want to lose access to my house vault as that is where I store all my tradeskilling materials. Otherwise, I would simply keep using my personal house to tradeskill and sell from.

My Illusionist back in the day on Neriak got into a freeport house for a guild meeting all the time. It's not hard if you know what you're doing, and have decent guildmates willing to help.
