Smite Evil.. good to get or not for a full time OTing paladin that wants all the hate he can get. If yes then how good, i.e. only good on 50% of fights or something? etc

and while we're add it i pose the same question with Reflect, the end ability in the KoS int line.

Smite Evil yes, reflect no. Smite Evil works for me on most mobs, epic, heroic and solo. I've never used reflect so I can't say first hand how good or bad it is but from the description it sounds pretty crappy.

Smite Evil is the hottest ability a Paladin has after amends, imo.

Smite Evil pretty much rocks. Works on almost all mobs, does 2-3k damage to each mob and uses no power. casting time is a bit long so u can get some interrupts. but definetly a must have for a pally that goes for DPS

I've critted for over 5k to AOE mobs. E.g. in Lyceum I've hit 4k+ parses

If the mobs are not epic, use Smite evil after you have hit them with a group taunt/divine debuff immediatly followed by hammer ground to buy yourself 2 plus seconds of casting with the area stun it generates. Quite a few mobs in the Fallen Dynasty are immune to this as the follow the monk archetype and are classified as good. I have seen some other oddieties out there like the hunter spiders in lopin plains that cant be targeted(ranger archetype?) and a few others. You have the most damage from Vampire mobs and such while normal damage on humanoids that are not classified as good archetypes and ordinary mobs. For a power hungry class we play, it is almost mandatory to have this if you want up your dps/hate and conserve some power and with the large amount of mobs it can hit it is very handy.

Reflect on the other hand has very little use in the PVE environment. It will reflect the next SPELL a target casts that is based on the 24 player cast's spells. It will not affect a mobs Specials/AOES and what percentage of mobs including EPICS use profession spells enough to warrant this? They improved the spell by not requiring a symbol in the off hand, but most mobs are more reliant on autoattack damage and specials. In a PVP setting I can see this being very useful, watch as the wizard hits you with his debuffs and then toss up reflect and watch him one shot himself or have a assassin decapitate himself.
