My friend and I are coming to EverQuest 2 from World of Warcraft. We are going to start on a PvP realm and was just trying to figure out some class questions. Are Assassins any good in pvp? Can you charm players in PvP? Which is stronger: Warlock or Necromancer(In PvP 1v1)

I have no personal experience with Assasins but I would think they would be pretty good. I don't think you can charm players (as a coercer) and use them as a pet but you can mez them to take them out of the battle. I would say Warlock, because Necromancers rely on their pets alot and so people ignore the pets and take down the Necro. Plus a lot of the necro's spells are dots so it can take awhile to take a player down. I got a Necro to 45 though when Vox was new and enjoyed it.

How are Coercers at getting groups and what not? I had just rolled one, and I'm loving charm and all the little tricks I can do. I'm just very worried I rolled yet another worthless raiding class.

I played WoW and first rolled a Hunter(never got a group/guild that was worth the time) and then a Rogue(same story). I came here because I've heard wonderous things. WoW was a noob MMORPG players game. I'm a 6 year EQ1 player, so I figured I'd come back to my roots. Well I guess I'll stick it out on the Coercer...maybe roll a Defiler and mess around to see their skill set up. Thanks for the quick answers...any other advice/tips is very welcome.

Coercers are misunderstood and many people will overlook a Coercer and go for a pure DPS class or something else (at least PvE). On a PvP server your demand may be higher to help with Group vs. Group combat because you can mez their healer or mez their dps etc...

Then again, every class forum complains about their own class till no tomorrow. I guess I'll stick it out, keep my hopes up, and possibly do something amazing.
