I am a veteran of MMo's. Played EQ for 5 years, CoH/CoV for 2 years, GW for awhile, and WoW for 1 1/2 years. WoW being the one i just came off of playing.

Its nice to see message boards that arent full of posts flaming newbies and just peopel in general (that is prety much all you get on the wow boards and even in game), i am still downloading the game at this moment but i can see that its already foing to be better from that aspect. I guess all im trying to say with this post is that im looking forward to playing with civil peopel for once lol. Is this pretty much the same sentiment you get everywere in the game?

If you're coming from WoW, you're in for a treat Yeah, it's a pretty friendly atmosphere, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with how the game plays too. Those annoying people do exist out there, but they're rather rare and theres enough friendly players out there to forget about them. And remember, you can actually ask a question in game here and you wont be called a noob.

lol im looking forward to that, i enjoyed the fact taht CoH/CoV forums and the necro forum i used to visit for EQ were like that. however after playing WoW for that long you just forget that decent gamers exist.

Not that we haven't got them, mind you, but we out number them

Welcome to Norrath (again )!

I have meet a few annoying/rude people but not very many. And I've yet to have someone assume that since I was a female character I got my gear and money because I danced around naked near the broker not by my own merit/work. That's a big plus <G>.

If you plan on going to a pvp server, be prepared for more immaturity than on the pve servers. comes with the teritory, but still nowhere near the community of WoW.

Welcome to Norrath! I like to think this game is too tough to pick up for most wow kiddies, and they don't stay here... justs my impression anyways. This game is alot harder to learn than wow, because it's vastly more sophisticated. The depth of the game makes wow look like pacman. It took me a month to get used to all of the options available in the game, but it's worth it! The online manual for this game is very basic at best. You'll learn more faster by searching these forums, and by all means, ask lots of questions here in the newbie yard... most people are very helpful. You can ask questions in game /ooc or /1 and mostly you'll either get a good answer or none at all. I can't recall any flames in the ingame chat saying rtfm etc. Enjoy!
