Girlfriend and I are new to EQ2. We're planning on rolling a tank/healer combo which has worked for us in other games pretty well. Was wondering if I could get some suggestions as to which tank/healer duos work well together. Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

As I just posted in another thread =), I rather like duoing mystic/berserker. That set has served my husband and I quite well since shortly after launch.

Just about any healer/fighter combo will work pretty well though. Even some non-traditional duos can be very effective in EQ2 however, so don't be afraid to try something different sometime as well.

Same with Finora. I do Mystic/Berserker duo with my brother.

My wife and I have duo'd a Berzerker/Fury Combo to 52 so far. I really dig this combo for a few reasons. Berzerkers are great aoe tanks and one of the top damage dealing tanks. Furies dish out some of the best healer damage, especially in big encounters. We plow through multi-mob encounters with no problems. Furies have some of the fastest casting heals and can at any point in time have a metric ton worth of healing going on. My wife on her fury has brought me back from purple to full health in no time flat. She giggles maniacally when we get swarmed and she drops an aoe. Furies have a lot of utility as well. Her teleports are really coming in handy now that we are really getting into EoF.

SK/inquisitor is also rather neat. the only thing that wont work very well with a tank/healer duo is a monk or bruiser with an inquisitor or templar. the cleric heals jsut don work well with avoidance tanks like brawlers.

Well, a couple in my guild do the templar/monk thing and they seem to do pretty darn well, but then again I swear he is the most awesome templar I've seen hehe.

It's not to say the inquisitor/templar with a bruiser/monk *can't* work, it's just not an optimal combo. The reactive heals are the primary method the cleric classes use and since the whole point of a brawler is to avoid hits that would trigger the heals it somewhat lessens the effectiveness of the healer. Still viable, but a healer with heal over times would probably be the best choice since HoTs are generally more mana efficient and since the brawler is avoiding hits they have the time to have the HoT run its course.
