just started a coercer so was wondering about charm. I found that the up arrows on mobs become "debuffed" and that the strength of the spell determines pet strength, but I was wondering if mob level matters at all? Would there be a difference in pet power if I charmed a 10 instead of a 12? Also regarding spell quality, is a master1 ALWAYS better then a Adept 3? Regardless of spell level?

Kind of surprised I haven't got a reply yet. From what I can gather, a mob higher level then the coercer would get "debuffed" to their level, but if they charm a mob thats below their level, they would simply be made to have no arrows but would not get buffed up to be even with the coercer. Basically making it where you best bet of a pet is even level or higher. Am I wrong?

Charm makes the stats of the MOB to be "normal" basicly removing the heroics. The level of the charm (adept/master) will effect the spells/abilities the mob has. Using an Adept III charm will give the mob Adept level spells/abilities. This is why Master I charm is important. It greatly increases the DPS of the pet (possession works the same way). It is best to use Master I over a higher level adept III. (beyond coerce which has no level limit)

One thing to bear in mind that each version of charm has a level at which resistability increases. So while it is true that the level 47 Dominate M1 will give you better damage output than say level 61 Domination AD3, for mobs that are higher than level 67 Dominate will start to get resisted and break more frequently.

So would it be more advantageous to charm an even con mob over a blue con? or a yellow con over a even con?

Hmm, it's really not a very straightforward answer there. It depends on a lot of things like what type of mob it is (caster, melee, etc), what your subjugation is, and you spell quality are all factors there. By and large, I'll take a blue-con wizard mob over a yellow con fighter mob just simply because I know it will do more damage.

Well put it this way then, is a yellow con caster better then or equal to a blue con caster in damage? Well I'm glad to know heroics are cleared up, but I'm looking for an answer in terms of, could I charm a grey and a yellow and get the same result from each? Does the level of the enemy effect their power when their charmed? How much of a difference will I see if there is one?

Well, I think the answer you're really looking for is all things being equal EXCEPT level, the higher level will always be stronger (but you'll also incur more resistability risk).

Nice, thank you very much, exactly what I was looking for.

put some AA into the charm resistability and you'll often go the entire charm length without resists. it's worth taking first over anything else (with AGI line being a common early spec after that)

First recommendation is, if your Coercer isn't very high level yet, Kill It! Kill it before it grows. You'll only get more frustrated the higher you advance.
