View Full Version : Bounced from Wayfarer's

A couple times in the past week I've camped in Wayfarer's Stockpilers (the Willow Wood crafting instance) and then when I wake up, hello, I've been pitched out to Willow Wood, blankets and all, and let me tell you, it's no joy to the passers-by to see what I look like first thing in the morning. Has anyone else had a similar experience? This is weirding me out. I bathe at least weekly, so I wouldn't expect the other crafters to be complaining to management to have me dumped into the open air, but you never can tell. Whysprr

Terribly sorry about this, but I've had a word with the broker and the writ-givers, and apparently, you sing in your sleep. It was annoying the fuel vendor, who is tone deaf. ... Actually, since crafting societies are instances, they work like housing -- if there is someone currently in the instance when you log back in, you'll reappear in the crafting instance (or house). However if the instance is empty, you can't log back into an instance that doesn't exist, so you log in outside. That'll teach you to sleep under the forge ... I know it's warm, but have you considered the low priced inn rooms just around the corner?

Well, dip me in cornmeal and fry me for a catfish. That makes sense.

And I'd just like to say, ma'am, that you're very diplomatic. Sing is OK. If you'd said I snore, I'd have had to take offense.

Whysprr

I can log in my secondary seller while my primary seller is in the tradeskill instance with half a dozen other players. Still, my secondary seller zones outside about 50% of the time. This is happening with homes as well. I remember this begun happening back in April. It was not a big problem unless my secondary seller zones in next to the Starcrest fountain. My secondary seller is a locked level 1 Fury for tradeskill mentoring purposes. So just the discovery exp from the Starcrest fountain may ding him.

In fact until GU 36 higher food and drink did not scale when mentoring. Even now food and drink scaling is bugged. Sometimes it scales down then never scales back up once you unmentor. Other times food and drink will not scale down. I still find myself tradeskilling with power regeneration of 75+ per tick. While power tradeskill arts take between 5-30 each.

You have to be very close to the fountain in Starcrest to receive the discovery. Unlike the Nettleville marketplace which is 1/4 of the zone. When my level 1 Human Fury got off the boat in Nettleville, he took the bell directly to Starcrest. Once in Starcrest he turned right, then turned left at the South Qeynos door, walked behind the buildings to the entrance to the Down Below, then circled left around to the instance door, making sure to get close enough to click on the door to zone in, but stay far enough away from the fountain right outside the door.

Actually I find that interesting. Yes, I know that if you camp inside your home and log back in you will be outside the door. But I've always been able to camp in the TS instance and log back in right where I camped, near the broker. This must have been a ninja change or something, as I don't remember seeing any notes about it. I experienced this the other day, and was like wow, why did I get moved? That's never happened to me before, and then I started asking if the instance had crashed, but people didn't know.

I *always* wondered why this happened. So basically you can't create an instance by logging in, it has to already have been created by someone occupying it. Cool.

So if the tradeskill or home instance ever becomes empty, your character will log in outside the door of that instance.

As silly as it sounds, I think some of it is what crafting instance you use. I hardly ever get knocked out of the one in Nettleville, but am often kicked uot of Long Shadow Alley. I think it's cause Nettleville is more active so the instance doesn't close. I think people could go quite awhile and not lose any instance what with people watching the brokers as they do, keeping that instance up

I do know TS zones are instances (and hence work like any other instance-you can keep an isntance open as long as one person in your party stays in), cause when we were on satelitte, we had massive issues with what we call **small** instances-houses, TS isntances, Court of the Moon. For some reason, soemthing about them doesn't feed the satelitte the right data and we go ld. Like it thinks we're inactive. It was mucho-odd and annoying. A carpenter who can't enjoy her own house....it did get better though and is perfect now that we're off satelittle.
