Can you guys recommend some decent laptops that will handle EQ2 well? I am looking for something in the 700-100 dollar range.

I am playing EQ 2 on a laptop currently. It is a Sony Vaio VGN FE21-M:

intel core duo @ 1,66 Ghz

1 GB ram

160 Gb hdd @ 4200 rpm

Geforce go 7600 with 128 Mb dedicated and up to 512 shared (optional).

The game works without problems at balanced settings. Haven't tested in raids yet, but i suppose it will workout ok. The laptop costed me 1 500 euro, but this was from import, so I suppose you can get it cheaper. The laptop itself is well buit, keeps cool even at gaming (50 degrees celsius cpu temp after heavy gaming, stays at 37-40 while idle). The screen has nice colors and is quite bright. All in all a ghood gaming machine.

Also keep in mind, that upgrading will be hard . As Richyc said desktop PC is way easier to upgrade, then a laptop.
