World of Warcraft made me a hardcore raider, it's what I enjoy most in MMORPGs. So upon starting my character here endgame is definetly something I wan't to take part in eventually (I'm in no rush to cap though, I just want to enjoy the ride of getting to 70, or even 80 if I don't get there by expansion). However, I would like to pick a class that can find a raid guild relativly easily. Is there any melee classes (I don't enjoy playing casters as much as melee) that maybe aren't as populated, and raid guilds aren't overflowed with, and generally recruit? Usually I play the tank role in MMORPGs, so a Guardian was my initial thought, but after reading through the forums all tank classes seem to be relativly popular and a lot of them around. I'm 100% open to playing another melee class, in the end it may be even more fun to try something I hadn't done in previouse games. But alas, here is the question... is there even such a melee class that's not overpopulated but often sought by raiding guilds?

Thanks.

(And I know I should play which ever class I enjoy most, and I will... but I'd prefer to make my main a character I plan to raid with first, and then make alts of my choosing for fun.)

**Edited for typos, twice.**

Bards (troubadors and dirges) and rogues (swashbucklers and brigands) are in high demand. There are few bards (last I checked troubadors were the class least represented at level 70). The bards are not high dps for melee characters, though, and have a fair amount of spell casting capacity. The rogues are a more pure melee type, which might be what you are looking for.

One thing you might want to keep in mind is the expansion. If you really want to tank and have the skills and leadership ability to do it then the perfect chance to sneak in and find a spot for yourself is when the level cap raises from 70-80.

If you don't feel the pressing need to MT a raid, then I agree with the above post about bards and rogues for melee classes. While you can do more, bards are mostly there for the buffs. Swashy does nice damage and has good debuffs to reduce the mobs damage output, and brigands are a little less damage, but have awesome mitigation (armor and magic) debuffs and increase raid dps output as a whole by quite a bit.
