You get that gem after doing 4 or 5 quests and getting your faction up with them. The entrance is in Thundering Steppes down south near the Giants.

Type /claim and you'll be able to claim "A Mysterious Shard". Examine it to get a quest that is in Thundering Steppes (also a vision of what you are looking for).

Some of the quests are a bit confusing and the game doesn't tell you which quests help you earn the trust of the Splitpaw gnolls. There are three soloable quests that will earn their trust. If you need that information I recommend the eqi Splitpaw timeline: http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Splitpaw_Timeline Or the Allakhazam quest guides: http://eq2.allakhazam.com/db/quest....l?eq2quest=1991 If you get hit by a Tesch Mal Abductor they send you to the Captive Audience zone. This is the "free demo" zone for the Splitpaw Saga to give you a taste of what the adventure pack is like if you didn't buy the pack. It isn't required and it doesn't progress any of the adventure pack questlines. If you get captured and just want to get out fast you can evac or camp and then you will come out at Thundermist Village. Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLere Vaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere

I've yet to buy any adventure packs. Only have the xpansions that came with EoF. Are they worth paying for?

In my opinion they are just for the fact that they offer alot of solo content. They also off exclusive spells and stull like that as well. I think they are worth the $4 or whatever it is.

Both bloodlines and splitpaw are just cave crawls. (Boring as hell at that) and bloodlines is pretty much all group content. So splitpaw, and yeah, splitpaw is good for fast leveling Go there once every level and do harclaves, other than that, pretyt meh. Fallen dynasty is a bit better int hat regard, but its a high end content pack.

Another plus side is that the mobs in there scale with your level so you can lock yourself and just farm it for recipes. I was able to avoid paying the 50gp-1pp for advanced recipes on some levels (yes, crazy sellers on my server ) just by going in there.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Splitpaw Saga (the only one I've completed) mainly cos, well, it was different. Some of the quests are great fun, really amusing - I loved the sometimes less-traditional ways of traversing caves for instance - and it felt like they're really given it some thought. As a UK player, with the exchange rate being so good at the moment, Splitpaw was about the cost of a Big Mac, all three about the cost of a round of drinks. Look at it like that and they're really good value and worth getting.

However unless you have a group to play with the adventure packs will be pretty disappointing. Bloodlines is fun, if you have a group of friends you could all buy it and spend a week or so running through it. Splitpaw has lots of solo content, some group content and some raid content. The Asian Pack has a very little solo content, with the rest being group content. Personally I want to have access to everything in Norrath so I would buy them, but I recommend makiing sure you have a friend or 2 who also have them so can get the most out of them. People tend to spend the first few weeks after they are released in the new adventure packs and then go back to the main game only to return occasionally.
