I read a review of EoF on Gamespy's website that said that evil charcaters couldn't start off in the Fae place and were therefore pretty much stuck to going through the crappy newb island. Is this still the case?

I'd like to play as a SK, but I've been through the newb island twice before I always end up quiting shortly after that place.

So is there anyway to have my cake and eat it too? I'd like to be a SK and get to go thorugh the EoF quests.

Let me rephrase part of that: I'd like to be a Human SK and yadda yadda yadda.

I don't want to play as a Fae.

You can now start in Darklight Woods which is a new newbie zone that will take you from 1 to 20. A lot more fun than the evil isle IMO and the rewards are generally better.

You can start in Neriak now, I think as a human though it might be the 'evil only races', and you would start in Darklight Wood, not the newbie island.

Also if you want to experience the EoF areas, you could start as a Paladin over there and betray to a Shadowknight and move to Freeport or Neriak later on. Even as an evil character you can do a lot of quests in Greater Faydark and run around in Kelethin. Just be careful not to go near the guards where the queen lives. They don't like the evil types!
