I realise that it's not going to happen any time soon, but would it be possible to get someone to look over this set? As it stands, the entire set is absolute garbage (not exagerating) with very poorly thought-out increases.

Let's take a look at the set bonuses:

(3) Applies Focus: Clara's Midnight Tempo. - Increases damage of Clara's Midnight Tempo by 60.

(5) Applies Critical Spell Damage Boost. - Increase Damage Spell Crit Chance of caster by 6.0%

(7) Applies Focus: Dove Song. - Increase disruption, ordination, ministration, subjugation and focus of Dove Song by 10

Clara's Midnight Tempo is our stealth attack. It does a whopping 1k damage (rough number) so this is approximately a 6% increase. But wait... this skill requires stealth, and since troubs have no way to get into stealth other than using the stealth skill (the one you get at level one) which has a 2 second cast time... using Clara's will LOWER our DPS. No one uses this skill! MAYBE I'll use it ONCE per fight. WORST SKILL BONUS EVER!

The critical spell bonus is nice, but it's more of a 3 peice set bonus, not 5 peices.

Focus: Dove Song... how many raiding Troubs use this? General concensus on the Troubador forums is not many, if any use this. Having this as our 7 peice set bonus is INSULTING. This spell isnt even used in the raids that we play in to get the set. I admit it's a nice bonus for PvP, but other than that, it's garbage.

Stats: For the full set, you get these stat increases.

STR: 25 30 34 18 27 32 32 | 198 STA: 22 34 15 38 10 22 00 | 131 AGI: 15 00 10 20 10 00 25 | 080 WIS: 00 00 00 00 20 00 00 | 020 INT: 34 00 34 00 00 00 38 | 106

What were you thinking? Troubador's primary stat is AGI.... only 80? Our main damage dealing stat is INT. Only 106? Over the entire set?

If I were to do this, I'd have 131 STR, 198 INT, 106 AGI, 100 STA, 0 WIS. Focus on the stats the class needs, not the ones we dont want. 20 WIS? [Removed for Content] was that all about?

Before you design the next set of set gear, can you make a thread on the class forums and just ask what we'd LIKE to see? Just to get a general idea of how useful certain effects would be to us? Because this set specifically, and the general feel about ALL the sets is that they aren't worth getting.

/rant off

My troub uses the AP ability - which I cannot remember the name of - where u do a rear attack, get some money if its a humanoid and go into stealth to do Clara's. Bump is it called? Anyway - it allows me to use Clara's whenever its up.

The simple fact that the Dirge 3 item bonus is a massive decrease of the recast time on Cacophony of blades if unbalancing the bards even more .

Just look at PoM and CoB

PoM

Root Daze ~ decent damage

CoB

No Root nor Daze

But Decent damage (since melee things hit way more often than spells )

And Interupt .

I wont even mention that they get lifetaps a heal and rezzes while we get a mez and a not really useful (or useless while raiding ) charm .

And the set just added to my decision to make my swashy my main .

Hey now, no need to go slamming on dirges here. I wouldn't call bards unbalanced with each other. Both are wanted for different things. If you want to make an arguement for your 3 piece bonus being like ours, but for PotM, sure, I'd agree.

Just like you guys, CoB helps my group a lot more than it does me. Unless I get one of those 1.1 delay weaps to switch in for chimes, I could probably do more damage spamming spells during PotM. Don't even bother adding interrupt to the ability. Useless in pvp, and mostly useless in pve. And lol @ listing no daze with caco. [Removed for Content].

I would rather have power taps on raids than lifetaps. Lifetaps are better for heroic content though. A heal? Sure it's cool. You get JESTERS CAP. Hi! I'll take that instead! Your charm is akin to our fear spell. Both mostly useless, but decent for some heroic stuff. Then we can argue Daze vs mez, root vs stifle etc etc all day long. The fact is, if you want to talk raids, both bards are wanted. Badly. Heroic? Both wanted just as bad. Solo? Who cares.

The fact that you pick swash because of a 3 piece eof set bonus means you really didn't want to play a bard anyways. Probably one of the types too concerned with their own dps.

This thread is not about the imbalance between the two bard classes. This thread is about the fact that the Troubador EoF set, the set of armor made SPECIFICALLY for our class, has stats that are centered more around a melee DPS class (which we're NOT) and has bonus effects that are laughable at best, and insulting at worst.

For any devs who may be interested in reading just what I would like in a raid set, here's some suggestions:

Enhancements of the following spells/skills (in no particular order): Kian's Catastrophic Anthem Zander's Choral Rebuff (I remember seeing an upgraded version of this spell on test. Are we still getting those?) Demoralizing Processional Precision of the Maestro (more damage, reduce the recast, like you did with Cacophony of Blades) Aria of Acclamation (+damage, or + trigger chance) Dancing Blade (increase resist debuff) Jester's Cap Requiem of Reflection (If it procced more often, or lasted for longer, it'd be useful more often) Balletic Avoidance (Add some mitigation, a couple of hundred would be nice)

Spell or Melee crits (prefer spell) Damage procs on hostile spells +Spell damage +mental damage +DPS (it'd have to be a large ammount for a set peice bonus. Atleast 30-40) +piercing/slashing/ranged

Obviously these are personal preferences, and some would be more highly sought after than others. I feel that any of the above would have made much better bonuses than anything that we currently see on the Troubador set. Another gripe I have with this set is that it's just plain UGLY. Take a look in this thread for what the PvP set looks like. Much better looking isnt it?

Thank you for trying to get this fixed Paikis. RoK is almost out and it's only now that aggression was added to the 7 piece bonus. I was thinking that they didn t fix that because a revamp was on it's way... how naïve of me. Stealth stab on the troub needs to be rethinked anyway, no that dosn't mean a 5% damage increase with the fabled armor set wizzie 5 set bonus : 8% spell crit bonus and +150 power troub 5 et bonus : 6% spell crit even though they only have 5 spell attacks. the worst thing is that the 6% spell crit is the most interesting bonus in the set. In the end just go after other items and hope that the set will never be changed, for when that happens your dirge friends will probably be crying after the 3 item bonus gets changed to match the troubs.

You mean they'll give dirges something like:

3: +5 defense

5: +6% spell crit chance

7: +100hp +10% run speed

.... Would be about as useful as ours. Give us double attack I say (pvp I really don't care if you don't like this).

I think i'm going to post the "Suggestions" part of this thread in the Troub forums...

I'm a dirge, and I fully support giving troubs a 3 piece set bonus like ours. Recast duration reduction on PoTM by 25 seconds.

I do agree with the OP : I'm not fascinated at all by our fascination set...

I kept the Boots and the Mantle but discarded the Hat and the Bracers (and i have not seen any Legs / Chest atm).

Imho, best hat is still the very rare Nightchord drop on Alzid. After more than 45 Labs, i turned off from my hopeless quest and i finally use the Legendary Lyrical Salvo Proc instead of my Coif of Fascination (unless i need a specific resist).

If i were about to loot the Gloves, i will be very annoyed by the choice between this crappy fascination and my Gloves of the Virtuoso (DT / Tarinax).

Thought the Bracers give +5 Piercing skill, i still use the Bracers of Resounding Presence (Relic) for the solid +25 Int. I solved my Piercing problem with my weapons + Fabled adorns and the Dark Bangle (MIS / V'Tekla).

Not wanting to complain beyond the original subject, i want to underline we also lack ways to upgrade our Mental damages themselves. I had to notice a lot of +Mental Adorns or +Mind Shatter items are still forbidden to us (since we do not use Symbols, to be adorned or looted, ie the Orb of the Chosen (MIS / D'L Cheroon))

When I look at the Dirges' Set, i must say i am jealous. With a simple transposition, i will be happy to quest this fabled set again. Well, maybe things will really change with a fifth piece of the set (though one can reasonnably doubt that +6 critics will really change something to my dps ranking...)

All this to express how i am disgusted by the way our class designers obviously ignored the basics of Troubadours.

I really hope they do a better job with the RoK sets. There was a dev post somewhere (can't be bothered finding it again) that basicaly said that they're not going to alter any of the sets now. So, mission failed. Sets still blow. Better luck next time eh?

/sceptical
