There seems to always be a lack of proof reading on the network status boards. I have noticed maybe 6 issues over the last 2.5 months. Examples below......

Copied from the Network Status boards:

Scheduled Downtime - 07/18/2007 12:00 PM PDT = 12:00 PM PDT is NOON and this was posted at Midnight. It is also a bit confussing

On Monday, 07/19/2007 at 7am PDT all U.S. servers will be down for a scheduled update. The downtime should last 2 hours.

Monday and 07/19/2007 ?? the 19th is not a monday and you cannt have 2 Mondays 3 days apart

Scheduled Downtime - 07/16/2007 7:00 AM PDT On Monday, 07/16/2007 at 7am PDT all U.S. servers will be down for a scheduled update. The downtime should last 1 hour.

............ No reply but i see you fixed it

This isn't actually a page that someone on my team updates. I will try to keep an eye on it though and try to catch stuff like that and get it forwarded to the right people. I am sure someone just made a typo on it.

Please could you tell us who's teams responsibility it is to maintain this page?

Today paw was not due any downtime yet I was unable to log on as the login server had been taken down as part of the US server patch. No information regarding this was supplied. This means that I could not play late afternoon / early evening. Please let me know so that I dont just spend my time shouting at people such as yourself.

toka

For the international servers the international team takes care of the patch notes and update messages. The server status pages are all done automagicly

Are your servers not getting the in game messages?

I don't know if we get in-game warnings or not before the regular downtimes on Runnyeye because it is at 6AM local time and I sleep that time. This week's unusual downtime (from 4PM local time, peak time!) for our server was announced on the US network status page (and was not mentioned in the forum post by Grimwell). As I heard there were multiple in-game warnings before that. The problem is that there is no network status page for planned downtimes on eq2players.com for the European English servers because the English version usually only mentions the US English servers. Thats why we don't check that page regularly so this unusual downtime this week was an unexpected downtime for most of us. BTW, the update notes page on the launchpad are updated the same time when the US servers patched but we usually get patches 1-3 days later. It would be great if that page would show only the updates which are already applied to our server.

Gninja wrote:
Are your servers not getting the in game messages?
Yes, got the in game message but then what is the point of the network status boards. Not a very good excuse for not having it up dated. Planning around some of these server going down will hopefully be done differently after GU37, but I thought the idea of the network status boards was to info those even if not online....

Kinda think this snowballed a little off topic lol. The Network Status Boards are often incorrect or not updated. looking at like 7 bad posts in 2.5 months. This is a horrible average. Like I lost my job because i forgot to go to work for a whole week lol kinda thing. Just the fact is that particular part of the whole EQ2 $OE experience is lacking. Does it call for me to quit game no, but thinking you are putting out a good product and knowing you are putting out a Great product is the difference here.
I still see this as the only MMO that are not using the GMT timers. I have played several smal MMO's and they use the GMT timers when there is a patch, makes it a lot easier to locate the time when server is coming down. And if they are going to bring down EU servers, they better type it and bring on the GMT timer. This has been annoing since day 1 in this game. And as above, when bringing down international server without posting it on EQ2Players page that's most annoing.
