My wife and I started playing about 2 weeks ago. We both are trade skill junkies. I am a Armor maker -- she is taking the woodworking path.

Along the way she made a Mastercrafted Bag. The question is how?

I see people in the fourms talking about Mastercrafted, But I am not sure how one goes about making it.

Is it a random thing from crafting?

Thanks in Advance

Been a while since I TSed (before the major changes long ago) but I think the Master Crafted stuff is the stuff you craft from rare components. It used to be legendary when you made it, as were the rares, but now the rares are Treasured and I believe the resulting item is Master Crafted. So, if you harvest a rare like blackened iron, fel steel, etc and make armor with it, the tag will be mastercrafted.

There's 2 sets of books for each tradeskill, except provisioner:

[Tradeskill] Essentials Volume #0-#9

Advanced [Tradeskill] Volume #0-#9

Since you're just starting and your wife is a woodworker, she probably made a bag from the Advanced Artisan Volume 2-9 books and a [waxed leather pelt].

These first advanced books are available from the <Tradeskill Trainer>. Later Volumes have to be found by killing mobs of the appropriate level or buying them from the <Broker>.

When I first started, I accidentally used up some rare harvests making MasterCrafted items. For this reason, I make sure I don't have any rare harvests in my bags or even buy the Advanced books for that tier when I'm leveling up.

Good luck (with the RNG) and good crafting

Master Crafted items are created using the rare harvest raws from each tier(T2 = severed bone, blackened iron cluster, rough coral, silver cluster, sisal root, and cured leather pelt). Each tradeskill class will have a series of books titled "advance" for each level and class. These books abtained via mod drops off of mods that are near the level of the advance "crafting class" volume or you can purchase them from other player via the broker. Once you have the books and rare raws you then can craft the mastercrafted items for your class. As a armour you would want advance outfitter and armour volumes plus the rare ores. Your wife would want the advance craftsman and woodworker volumes plus the rare wood. Hope this helps you

Yeah, mastercrafted items are items made from a rare resource, and a majority of the best items tradeskillers make are mastercrafted. The rare resources are gotten from regular harvesting nodes, just don't get them that often.

Also, in order to craft mastercrafted items, you have to get the recipes from the advanced recipe books, which aren't sold by any npc's, but are mob dropped. The broker generally has lots of the advanced recipe books for pretty cheap.

Great info. And thanks for such a fast response.

Another question, While out Harvesting I came across items like (Glowing **) items. And I have made weapons that are imbued.

Is the ( Glowing Item ) what we use for Mastercrafted?

Thanks again

Pss- And lm loving the feel of EQ2- I went from EQ1 (4 years of it ) to WOW. Now to EQ2

The glowing items are for imbuing items that you make. Some armor and weapons can be "imbued" which gives it a special ability (like extra damage or heals). For example, woodworkers make staffs and shields. After you make a shield, you can turn it into an imbued shield by making the imbued version (which requires the regular version as a component). For example, you might create an Ash Buckler. You would then choose the recipe for Imbued Ash Buckler and create that which would replace the ash buckler with an imbued one. If nothing else, you are going to want to make the imbued versions of everything to get the experience points for creating the item for the first time. Imbuing is limited to certain items (for example, I think you can only imbue certain armor items). You can imbue both the normal and mastercrafted versions of these items, though. Woodworkers can imbue most of the weapons and shields they make. They cannot imbue arrows and totems. Another point on mastercrafted -- woodworkers make most of their money selling mastercrafted items (and later totems). It is worth making them to put on the broker to sell to people.
