Everytime I start up the launcher it appears to want to download the entire game again, even though I already have it installed. I've done a search on the things it's downloading and I already have those files and yes, I've done a full file scan. I can play the game just fine if I bypass the launcher and just start it using the exe file, but as soon as there is an update I'll need to run the launcher again. I've kind of figured out what it is, but I can't stop it. For some reason, the launcher thinks that EQ2 should be installed in C:Documents and SettingsUser, which of course it's not. Everytime I start the launcher it checks that folder, sees there are no EQ2 files in there and proceeds to start downloading them all. I've checked the registry and it has the proper install path, so I don't know where the launcher is getting it ideas from. If it's of any help, the actual install path is D:Program FilesSonyEverquest II I've downloaded and reinstalled both the US and EU launchers from http://download.station.sony.com/pa.../download/eq2/, both of which didn't work. I've done a full file scan several times. I've searched the registry for all entries of EQ2 and there are no discrepancies. My EQ2 folder is not set to read only. Thanks for your help.

Let me guess, Vista? The User folder is where it tries to put files when a program tries to write to the disk and doesn't have proper access so Windows redirects the files to the Users folder. Did you check and see if the patcher is running in Administrator mode?

I'm logged in as an Administrator.

Never heard of such a thing with XP. XP has never forced software to save stuff in certain folders like Vista does. I am stumped.
