Hail and well met folks,

I have a few characters I run, one being a Fury who is AA spec'd and geared for strict solo play. I don't group with him because he's not, in my opinion... and he is MY character afterall so my opinion about him should count for something an appropriate choice for a main healer. Not because of his class mind you... but because of how I've chosen to kit him out and spec him.

Having said that... I do enjoy playing the healer support role, (as well as other roles), in a group and want to be the best healer/support character I can be.

I rolled a Templar because:

A) I love plate armor

B) I had quite a collection of Templar Adept 1 spells sittin' in my vault

My question though is... if you were to gear, AA spec, Master II choices, etc etc, a Templar to maximize your group role... how would you go about it?

Notice I didn't say "healing" but rather "group benefit" since I am one of those who firmly believes that there's more to playing a "healer" than "healing." Buffs and Debuffs can aide in keeping groups healthy by decreasing the need to heal them.

I'm also training him as a crafter to make my own spell upgrades, (Ultimately Sage I believe it is; Artisan --> Scholar--> Sage).

Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Oh... and while it may not have been an optimal choice... I've already chosen Dwarf as I just think Clerics and Dwarves go together

Take care and thanks again.

P.S. Oh... forgot to mention... odds are I'll never raid... so this is a purely normal grouping Templar... not sure if that matters. I'm guessing INT line in KoS for one thing so far... but there's more to this than simply AA selection... I think, LOL.

There are tons of posts on here, with a wide variety of opinions... realistically you should be trying out most of the combinations that are interesting to you, and making a decision based on your gameplay and how well it works for you. With that in mind; as a non-raiding group and small group Templar, I think I can at least give you a good starting point, though I would again, highly recommend you try out as many as you can.

From the KOS AA lines, start with Int and Sta. From the EOF lines, Blessings and Compliances are great choices for helping overall groups.

If you are interested in increasing your DPS, then the picture changes a bit, but those are good starting points.

As to the Master 2's maybe someone else can speak on them, frankly, I dont remember exactly which spells are available to choose at which levels. Reactives/direct heals would be obvious good choices, so would the group buffs.
