I just learned about turning off combat xp but I'm not sure if I should or shouldn't use the option. For instance I have a lvl 18 fury. Should I keep combat xp on at that low lvl or am I robbing myself of AA?

Unless you are in a PvP server and want to stay a certain level, or if you want to do all content of a certain tier without it going grey on you, there should be no reason for turning off combat xp. You will get AA xp reguardless. Mobs, items, and quests will still give you AA. The only time that xp will give you AA is when you are level 70 (current level cap).

I turn off combat XP between levels because I want to experience ALL of the quests in my area (and two other areas) BEFORE they turn gray. I'll admit I want the AAs but also want to experience all the quests. Sure, I'm leveling slower, but so what, I'm in no hurry, I'm not a power leveler.

Anyone know at what rate you gain AA xp as you kill monsters at lvl 70?

It's VERY, VERY slow earning AAs at level 70 from experience alone. It's far, far quicker to earn AAs doing quests and killing named mobs than grinding. For that reason, I turned off my combat exp at about level 15 or 20 and did nothing but quests and named mobs until the pickings got slim, and the quests started outleveling me. The result? About 65 or 70 AAs before I even hit level 50. Makes a world of difference.

The *ONLY* time you'd *EVER* want to turn off your combat exp, would be if you're close to level'ing up, still have quests to do, but they're green and in serious trouble of greying out on you. In *THAT* case, then yeah, lock your combat exp off and go from there. But, unless that's the case, then take it from me, I'm 52nd lvl, I've only locked my exp bar once and I have 62 AA's. Once I hit 70th lvl, I'm 100% sure I will have all 100 AA's I need. Remember, AA exp can come in hard & fast at times. There will be times in which you will gain 2-3 AA points *PER* level. It doesn't happen like that often, but it does happen as well. Just keep that in mind.

I think I've gotten something like 45-50 aas in 10 lvls on my assassin.

I would say its only your choice, theres really no "must" to turn combat exp off. Quests that greyed out can still be worth AA, you just need to mentor down to someone else on lower levels to turn them in, same for nameds kills. AAs are a good thing and can help a lot, but turning off combat exp for a longer time can also make it boring to play and see the same zones all the time. And no worries, there is still enough possibilty to gain AA exp when you hit lvl 70. People also were 70 before Sony implanted AA exp

DoF Lvl cap was 60, not 70.

I didn't turn off my combat exp but I did a lot of quests and experienced every dungeon. I hit 100 aa at level 65.

There are some really cool abliities with aa, but you won't necessarily get them faster by locking your exp, you'll just get them at a lower level.
