I have a wood elf fury who has soloed upto lvl 18 and now I am wanting to try grouping. The problem is... I am not sure what a fury's role is in a group. Is she a healer, buffer or a damage dealer?

What do most groups want out of a fury?

Unless there is another healer in the group the role would probably me main healer. Heal, debuff, buff, and cure. If the fights are super easy and you have power to spare throw in some DPS here and there.

If I two healers in the group and one is a Fury I ask them to second heal and so a bit more DPS.

The fury is the fastest healer in the game. Furies are also the biggest dps of the healers with a few buffs thrown in. But the main role of the fury in a group, is to heal. If the group is not in danger, then by all means put in a few hits, but overall, just make sure to heal all the time.

This is ahead of its time, but in raids, the ONLY role of a fury is to heal, and possible cast a few debuffs on the mob... but if the fury is not at the top of its game when it comes to healing, 9/10 it will mean a whipe.

Thanks.

I never have played a healer. But I love how solo friendly my fury is! So I guess I'm going to have to figure how to be a group healer

I was on my warden yesterday and got in an RoV group. After I joined they started spamming the level channels "looking for non-druid healer." I told them I was more than capable of solo-healing RoV. . .and I was. We blew through all of it easily in a 4-some. A berserker tank, me as healer, and then a brigand and an assassin. After taking out several named, I asked in group "So. . . what was that about needing a 2nd healer?" The group leader sheepishly said that they'd had a fury in group before and that he seemed to think he was dps, not a healer, so they kept wiping becuz he wasn't healing.

So. . to summarize: HEAL! HEAL! Everyone's okay? Toss a nuke, and HEAL! HEAL!!

I approach my Fury as a Healer first and foremost. As such, she is spec'd to max out those traits and it is what I expect to do in a group.

But as mentioned above, if there is more than one healer in the group, I personally volunteer to second heal (gives me a chance to drop a little dps and stand more toe-to-toe in the fray ).

I can appreciate how much you like the solo ability of the Fury, but rest assured Chobitz, you will have LOTS more fun in a group! Take your time, practice your spells and how they work (timers, affects, refreshes) both solor and in groups and you will enjoy your Fury even more.

I solo'ed for awhile as well and it took me some time to get used to healing in a group and now I am participating in raids with my guild and I never get to click another button outside of my heal spells I really am sorry that I didn't start grouping earlier cause it's alot of fun with my little fury.

Well you always cast your group buffs. Then your singles: get the bristle on the main tank, the int on the mages, and the agi/str on the melee DPS (mostly rogues). But mostly you heal. It takes a bit to get the hang of the heal over times, but they're your bread and butter. One of the things that's great about a fury is when you're in a group and you do get a second healer, you can DPS along with secondary healing. My mystic isn't nearly as much fun if I'm not primary healer.
