Chat Window user interface Problem - cannot see text!!

<p>As of today I can no longer see ANY world channel chat text, ooc text, or /tell text in my main chat window.  I have checked all the settings a dozen times but darned if I can figure out what the problem is.  When I try to send a message to world channel or a private tell, I type on the text line but nothing is echoed to the window itself.  This was working OK yesterday.  Same problem on all my characters.  New to EQII but lots of time w/ EQI and WoW.  Assume this is something really dumb but need help.  Thanks</p>

I don't know how to fix your problem. However, in WOW there was a folder that saved all your chat settings, if you deleted, you'd switch back to default settings. I'd imagine there is a similar mechanic. You could try dragging the UI folder to the desktop or another folder, then login. You'll lose all your UI settings, but probably reset to default. If that doesn't work, you could reinstall.

It's not going to a different chat tab is it? Did you right click on the chat window and go to Chat Settings and check to make sure the appropriate channels are checkmarked for that tab?

<p>Yes, was a Befallen server problem - re-ran patcher and it was fixed.  Thanks - that was driving me nuts!!</p>
