Hello!

I was just wondering if anyone knew how to replace some of the mouse actions with keyboard actions.

I suffer from Carpal tunnel syndrome and although I am able to create macros for some things, there are others I just don't know how to or if it is possible to. An example would be like getting context menus up (banking, inventory, trading, zoning, examining items) Also other things like sprinting or calling for help, opening doors. I am in the process of trying to create macros for fighting, buffing, and healing, as I have the G15 keyboard I have about 54 individual keys that I can "program" to do some of the things most would use the mouse for. My hope is if I can limit alot of typing (and all the mousing) that I will not only be a better player but I will be able to play more often and with less problems.

Thanks for reading!

Lexi

I can help you with a couple of your issues......

Sprint & Yelling are both pre programmed macros are found on you general skills page of spell/CA book. Pressing k is the default keybind for to open your book.

Using things via keyboard i.e. doors, harvest nodes, anything that changes your mouse pointer can be performed with the f key default. Not sure if this will bring up the context menus as I am a mouse player (use the mouse to run and do most things)

Hope this helps some.

You'll get used to some of the quirks of using F, it helps out alot, I don't like clicking anything except my combat arts hehe. Also, you have 3 hotbars that are keyboard-controllable via the #-keys across the top (1-0 and - and +) for a total of 36, totally keyboard-able commands (use # keys alone or in combo with ctrl or alt). And, add to that, things that you frequently use back-to-back, or that have close-to-same timers can share the same button (only 2 spells can be cast this way, in most situations, due to how queuing works unless it's an 'insta-cast' such as the HO starter). You can put these on same button by creating a macro (hit O and bring up to create macro, it's easy to use). Thank you all for your help on this. I am going to try and see what I can/can't macro within game and see if it helps limit the mouse use some (used to using mouse from other games and am trying to get away from so much of it) IMHO Sony should consider those of us mouse/keyboard challanged and come up with a way for us to enjoy EQ2 and be as much on par with our physically-capable counterparts.
