a list of the armor sets with pictures yet so I decided to give it a go. I have to say that I love the new dressing room feature. If anyone is curious how this was done, I looked up the item links from EQ2Links and took screenshots of the dressing room then hosted them at imageshack. Btw, feel free to post these pictures anywhere. That's why I included the direct links to the images. Enjoy =)

Thank you for posting these. I think someone else started to do so in another discussion group but it definitely belongs here. Now if someone would be so kind to show those on a female elf I could get passed maybe how bad they look on that guy. Oddly enough, for the most part I think the Legendary sets look better than the Fabled. Legendary Sets... Warrior (Guardian/Beserker): Aside from the texture it looks too similar to every other plate set. I grade it C. Its not horrible but doesn't really convey much. It looks more Guardian than Zerker. Crusader (Paladin/Shadow Knight): Same comment on texture as above. Another C for being redundant. Again more Paladin than Shadow Knight. Brawler (Bruiser/Monk): Boring boring boring... Another guy without a shirt. BLEH! Keep your shirts on fellas, you aint impressing me. Grade D-. Terrible head piece, recycled texture. More Bruiser looking to me. Cleric: (Templar/Inquisitor): Deja vu! Haven't I seen this set 2 times already? Wait! Even more than that! Grade dropped to D because it looks the same. More Templar than Inquisitor. Shaman: (Mystic/Defiler): Not a bad design, stupid hat, not sure what the red business on the forearms is about. Too much coverage (the arms and legs should be bare or have some skin showing), when I think Shaman I don't think this look at all, this is more Ranger. B- on design, D for class placement. Not sure which subclass this favors... Druid: (Fury/Warden): Errr red? I don't know, I use to like this set when it was new now it just doesn't seem to fit. Swap the look of Shaman and Druid around and maybe it gets closer to the mark. Again too much coverage!!! Druids are at home in the wilderness, they aren't afraid of brambles and creepy crawlies: Bare arms and legs. B- design, D on class placement. Probably more a Fury look. Oh and once again DUMB hat. Scorcerer: (Wizard/Warlock): Dumbest hat ever! F on the hat. F on having casters all crouched. Can't really see the design... call it a C because I feel bad for the casters. Nice color combo. Horrible texture. More Wizard I guess. Summoner: (Conjurer/Necromancer): Again dumb hat, dumb stance. Decent texture for subclasses. Maybe a B- for the bath robe but that's being really really generous. Enchanter: (Coercer/Illusionist): See about for hat, bathrobedness, and so forth. Doesn't evoke any thought that "hey I'm looking at an Enchanter". D- because like all robes this robe makes me wonder wear my bunny slippers are. Predator: (Ranger/Assassin): Too much coverage... Why oh why must every inch of flesh be covered with the thickest materials ever? This could all be improved very easily... B- I guess. This design could fit either subclass equally well. Rogue: (Brigand/Swashbuckler): YUCK! Does not fit the class profile. D- is for dorky hat. Come on people, put some effort into adding something unique (without making it look stupid). Complain complain... This design looks more Shamanic than Scoutic. Bard: (Dirge/Troubador): Looks Troubadorkish. I'll give them a C for not choosing brown or gray or yellow as the key color. Stupid hat. Kind of reminds me of Lambent Armor (well if Lambent was more Cyan). Nothing unique or compelling here. FABLED Sets. Guardian: C for design, F for redundancy. Beserker: C for design, D for TOO MUCH coverage. Paladin: B+ for looking like something a Paladin would wear. C for looking like so many other pieces in the game. Shadowknight: B- not quite as good as Paladin set. I'm not all that keen on the helm but I'm sure lots of people LOVE it. Needs to be more evil. Monk: F. Redundancy beyond belief. Bruiser: F. Doesn't not fit perceptions of the class. Templar: I don't get why its got all that red. It doesn't look to me like something a Templar would be wearing. C??? Inquisitor: I don't know if this design is utterly laughable or inspired. The chest piece doesn't seem to match the other pieces. C??? Mystic: Coverage! As in TOO MUCH! Aside from the dead animal on his head there is nothing that says "Hi there, I'm a Mystic". Looks more Beserker than Shaman. C... I'm getting lazy. Defiler: Same comments as above. I really don't get why they insist on making everyone wear an Exoskeleton. Fury: F. Maybe the beard is throwing me off but this just looks terrible. Too much coverage. Too overblown. Laughable. Warden: F-------. Yellow??? [Removed for Content]. You know I could go for the aboriginal design if A) there was more color, B) less coverage, C) it looked like something a Druid would wear. It don't. Casters: I'm lumping these all together as for the most part I'll be saying the same thing about them. CLOWN suits. Totally embarrassing that these designs were even approved. Horrendous. Sure they aren't bathrobes, but now casters should be juggling or something. Bad designers! Bad bad bad... no more fudge stripes for you. Ungraded because they is no grade low enough. Ranger: Too much coverage but otherwise a decent design. Looks aweful on what ever race the dude is in the pic. Hello, do you hear some large dude trying to sneak up on us? Let's pretend we don't hear him and bite his head off when he least expects it. I'll give it a B. Assassin: Same comments as above but only a C because it looks like a cheap copy of the Ranger look. If you want to give them a ninja look then go ninja. Swashbuckler, Brigand, Troubador, Dirge: Errr... These are scouts??? TOO MUCH COVERAGE! Loud designs on Rogues is bad, Bards, not so bad. I really can't give these collectively more than a C. They look the same cept for color and really add nothing to the appeal of the classes.

What the monk/bruiser sets looks made for bruisers? It's another monkish gi, dark colors don't change this but thats partly okey since this set refers to a legendary monk, but he wasn't a dwarf as far as i know, so no idea why to use those dwarven ornaments on his armor.

The "skirt" is too long. Bruiser... So what are her superpowers? Just doesn't look like a bruiser at all. Too bulky. Defiler so so... still not very Shamanish. Inquisitor... well why is she wearing chain? Every other piece I've seen with that pattern is chain. Don't really get what they are trying for with that look. The shoulders would look better on the Shadowknight. Shadowknight... Better than most of the others.

We all now have a challenge.. we have to post a picture of EQ2 armour that Chayna will say she likes. I think the assassin looks really nice there by the way.

I have a tresured BP (Redhaze Chain Tunic) on my Ranger with that look (but red instead of blue), and saw also the legs to it a while ago, however they also had that ugly skirt. So i better wear my Chain Leggings of the Haunted even if they are blue, and don't fit so good colorwise, but at least the have no skirt.

I think the powers that be have taken some fundamental missteps in the art that we see everyday. And I provide my feedback, which is part of the reason they have a forum. Feedback is a dynamic and continuous process as the game is in a continuous state of evolution. When you get down to it I think they can do better than they have done. How many classes are there? Now tell me how half of the armor sets above are compelling and add to the immersion into the class? The expectation of a MMORPG is that one would feel immersed into their character and find the content they are exposed to facilitates such. The way armor is designed in this game it basically is your skin (as it covers every inch except maybe your head. It is what everyone sees and therefor should have a strong bond to the nature of the class (I think most people recognize one another by the armor rather than the face or hair as everyone looks about the same). This is CLASS and subCLASS armor and should have a very strong look and feel to it that says: I am this class, they are that class, we all represent the strength of our class. Anything less, anything that makes you question that is not a success. It goes beyond what "looks good". Some of the sets show a basic understanding of this, some show that yes the developers and designers were thinking about how the class is played, the role, and how it should feel. Some seem to show a complete lack of integrity to any principle other than: "We need to crank out a new set of armor. Lets reuse this and use these colors instead and assign it to this class. Next!" Each expansion they coast more and more. I still think the capes are the worst addition to the game. They look completely dorky, I keep wondering where my spandex is. I cringe every time someone wears one (which is often because a lot of people wear them for some reason). I don't expect everyone to agree with me on what looks good and looks bad. There are a many tastes out there. I imagine there are those that love the ones I hate the most. If you look through my comments you would see that there are aspects I thought were good and aspects I thought were bad. Some sets aren't far off, some sets leave me wondering if they have a drug free environment there as they make no sense. Does SOE have to justify themselves to me? No, but they are welcome to. Do I have the right to expect better from them? Absolutely.

Actually many of those fabled look pretty darn good, maybe not appropriate for their classes but still an improvement. I would say that they missed the boat on a few (Wizard, Illusionist, Coercer.) Still, I will never get any of those as I am not much of a raider - ah well. Heres still hoping they will eventually make some things that look cool for us little people :o)

They look pretty cool apart from the Paladin and plate tank ones that dont even look like metal. The Strongbear stuff reminds me of a knitted jersey...

its a mistake to feature pictures on short or large races that have slight bodily distortions. The races that should featured to showcase gear sets are those that don't have unusual body features, Humans, Erudites, all Elves. Other races will distort the effects slightly. Iksar, Ratonga, Kerra and Frogloks have unusal heads that distort helmets. Ogres, Dwarves, and Barbarians have really heavy musculature which tends to look...bad in cloth. Gnomes, Trolls, and Halflings while not heavily muscled do have some pecularities to proportions that makes them less than ideal.

I don't take anything said to be anything directed towards me to have any malicious intent. You and I disagree on a lot of things (I know we've countered each other on a lot of threads). I laughed out loud when I read that. I know I take a very blunt serious tone in a lot of threads. That's just my "this is my opinion and I'm right" voice. And I tend to lecture which makes it sound like I take everything serious... I don't take anything too serious, especially myself. Even if it sounds like I do. **** Here's a real shocker... You're right... the female versions look better than the male versions. Then again most of the female models looks better than the male models. Maybe we should just get rid of the male models altogether. The males in the game look pretty cartoonish to me and a bit bland or bishie (not that looking bishie is a bad thing). The females (at least the non-"beast" ones) look more feminine than the guys. A bit exaggerated in certain regions but not so much in others (I've never understood why we have big breasts but flat butts. Women have curves on the back nine too... Ok, enough derailing...

Is it actually easier to get the fabled set than the legendary? I've been trying since EoF came out to get my Vhalen's legendary set for my Troubadour and still only have 3 bits (Boots, Leggings and Arms) and I bought the legs and arms from broker. There's the hands for sale but the price is insane.

CoV seems to always drop either Al'Kabor's or Nem Ahnk and Unrest is always Dogmatic or Strongbear

since beta of EoF i m saying that the fabled inquisitor set is looking too much chain armor... where is the vanguard plate design now ? and the Shoulders ? they look same than the scout Blackscale pauldrons, cmon ! The stats are nice ok, but it doesnt look anymore "Heavy Plate Armor". the legendary are already a bit too "simple" but the fabled, yuk...

I really like the hat on the Warlock, and the purple eye effect is sweet. Why oh why does the conj set have a metal faceplate and no robe? and since when is white an elemental color? I'm not going to ge the fabled conj gear if that's the best crap they can think of.
