I have a baby brig and was wondering what line would be best to finish with if I am dead set on the Int line. I only solo and do the occasional PUG.

Agil seems to be best for soloing with Wtp and sailwind

but

Str adds not only offence but defense.

My first thought was to take just enough of Agil to get WTP and finish it out in STR, but am I missing to much not having Sailwind in soloing? Thoughts?

I enjoy sailwind in groups as much as I like it solo.

You might be better off rolling a brawler it sounds like. Theres no reason to take the int line except the FD. And even is a baby brig it will be pretty useless.

I looked at brawlers and really didnt like them to be honest. I realize that if you look at the min/max INT would be pretty bad, but I hate dying. I like the challenge of staying alive and FD is so nice for that. So in the end is a mix of str and agi an ok choice or would I be better off going straight agi for the sailwind?

you would have to go too deep into either line to be able to get anything worthwhile out of the other line. I suggest you pick either str or agility.

I've found just about as much use out of safehouse as I could with feign death, especially since you can only stay down 30 seconds and the reuse is 1 minute.

Well you all are the experts, I will go with Str/Agi and forget the INT line and wait to get enough points for Safehouse. I hadnt really even looked at my Brigand AA list to be honest because I have always heard to work on the Rogue first.

The int line is clearly underated for soloing. Iwe had alot of success on speed farming nameds and certain instances using int line. However obviously there is both ups and downs to the line. The big ups imo is that you can get to basically everywhere you want to if you know how to move and position. I guess playing a bruiser up helps on knowing the safe spots, but they are there, everywhere. The second up is that all named group encounters gets insanely easy when splitting them up. Imagine a named with 3 adds. You FD your way to the safe spot. pull out the group encounter named, kill the adds off fast, FD. Then regen up and pull the now single named and take it down. The downfall on this strategy is obviously that you will have issues on single strong nameds. Oh and another thing to the ppl giving advice to go bruiser to a brigand wanting to go this dirction. Iwe done a bruiser farm character as well. In my opinion its way more fun and fast on brigand to get lvls out where on bruiser its easyer to go realy deep in zones early to grind out nameds.

Anyways, just becuase it seems to be the political correct thing to be against the Int line shouldnt make you not want to chose it and test it out yourself. obviously both works.

Well, I used to be defensively specced (STR/STA) with Safehouse. This is as a PvP brigand who liked to solo PvP, and solo farm, a lot. When I joined a guild that was more active in grouping and raiding, I went with AGI/WIS, and I don't regret it.

However, I'd be lying if I said that I didn't absolutely love the STA spec with Safehouse. My PvE main was a bruiser, so I had the mechanics of farming already down. I could farm every single named in SoS or PoA with little to no problem as a brig. Yes, even the PoA dragon rooms are killable/soloable (it just takes patience and a decently equipped character) if you know what you're doing. You might want to consider the AGI/STA spec as well, that's what I ended up with when I was in farm mode. WTP sets you up for the stun lock, the backstab proc is nice DPS, and sailwind is crazy good when soloing (or PvPing, heh). With the right CA combos the 70-72^^^ mobs in upper PoA are nearly dead from the initial flurry/lock, then the surprise attack kills them as they turn around to hit me. Do note, you need to be L58+ to have all CA's required for this.

At lower levels, and with the nerf to Safehouse now, the INT spec is probably a pretty decent choice for a soloer. I've never tried it myself, but as a former brawler in both EQ1/2 I can attest to loving feign death with a passion. =) Just be aware that you're giving up a LOT of utility from another line to get that feign. The rest of the INT line is pretty much worthless for a soloer, and you might be happier with something useful in (almost) every level of one of the other lines. Give STR/STA or AGI/STA a try, they're both very fun for soloing.

(As a note: a fully defensive specced brigand is a sight to behold. I've tanked for a 4 man group, with one healer, in Castle Mistmoore. L74-76 multiple linked ^^^ encounters. It was a bit rough but we all had ventrilo and played together a lot, so it went along pretty well. If I had fabled gear it would have been that much sweeter.)
