I originally purchased the retail box of EQ2 a few years back. When DoF and KoS were released no stores in my region sold anything EQ related so I was stuck to buy the two expansions digitaly trough the sony store. Now I want to purchase EoF however I was wondering if I purchase it trough Direct2Drive will it be attached to my account and automaticaly be downloaded if I have to reinstall my game like they were attached when I bought DoF and KoS via the sony store. If not will I have to download it again via Direct2Drive?

yes it will attach to your account after you put in the upgrade code and download auto for you.

Yup, D2D sends you a cd-key, you log in to EQ2 and click on the register expansion, input the cdkey and voila your done.  The patcher will download whatever your missing automatically.  D2D will also have a 8gb or so zip that you can download and burn to dvd if you want.  Or you can just let the SOE patcher patch it all every time.  It doesn't matter.
