702 years old =D So, theres an article on wikipedia that gives in game /time years for expansion and game releases... how old is your character? Round to the nearest expansion/event that you can remember happen around the time you started. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everquest_timeline

I really wish that Wikipedia website would flat out state that the dates described in the timeline are not official, and especially that none of the games specifically give out exact dates for events unless directly specified in the game.

Anyways, I don't see the calculator you're talkinga bout. Got a link to it?

Man, how neat would it be if you could age your character they way they advertised it for the pre-game marketing...

Eh I do not really take to EQ age timelines. Mostly, I play elfs and half elfs. all my elfs have been ageless as elfs are supposed to be. I have one elf that is under 200 years, and one under 400 years. The rest of mine are anywhere from 700-1200 (or more) years of age. My half elfs can be any age really living under the idea that one is immortal until one dies. The same holds true really for all my characters. They will live until they die. And in response to people who will obviously dispute this, it is my character and they can be however old I want them to be : ) edit: bollocks spelling

I'd post it but these [Removed for Content] forums mess it up.

Yeah... Also, none of the stuff inbetween EQ1 and EQ2 has /time dates for them to get wrong. Wikipedia might be good for your book reports, but we're telling you it's not reliable for EverQuest lore. You can believe us or you can believe Wikipedia the Almighty, your choice.

It is their character and however they want to play them then I support the way they want to play. Who knows why they are 5000 years old; could be long life, immortality, undeath, I do not really mind. : )

Cusashorn wrote:
I'm sorry, I'm still not seeing it.
Theres no actual calculator, you do a /time in EQ2 take the year there then take the year off of the wikipedia website from the expansion you came in on and then you pull out your own calculator or subtract the numbers in your mind =D

oh. Why didn't you just say so in the first place? Too bad each server in existance has a completly random year that doesn't correlate to any other server.

The only character of mine that I knwo for sure is my main, Faynar. He was 521 when the game first came out... He spent the first 21 years of his life sheltered in Kelethin prior to the Shattering. Though, I am not entirely sure where he spent the next 500 years between the shattering and when he was found floating around in the coean by those Pirates.

My Half Elf (High/Human) is rather young as his mother's broken heart finally mended (lost her husband and first child) and she decided to have another child with a very nice human. He is only 19.

If I had to put an age on my Barbarian Bruiser, I'd say that Daynar is in his prime, a smash mouth son of a [Removed for Content] thirty something.

My 3 characters I have central stories too at the moment.

Amana: Depends upon how far you wish to delv into his story. At face value he is only 24 years old, but to go through his story he would really be over 700 years old.

Saxx: His current age as of this date is 21 years old. However due to his white hair he would appear much older at a quick glance.

Sscath: Unfortunately his age is unknown even to him and only his foster parents could tell you that. However since they are dead that information died with them.

My half elfs can be any age really living under the idea that one is immortal until one dies. The same holds true really for all my characters. My Halfling, my second most-fun, is 140. Old for a halfling! Good thing she's a grandma to the guild... My Human is 19... and not the sharpest tool in the shed. Being an SK is hard! There's all these spells and things to memorize... My Barbarian is 31... and a Berzerker. Watch out! Considering that nearly a week of game-time passes every 24-hours in real time, I don't bother to figure out how old any of my characters are by the calendar. I base their ages on the concept of the character, and advance them in years as the storyline dictates.

Cayen (Barbarian), Mystic of Clan Bearhammer, is 68 years old. He has white hair and a white mustache, but due to the muscled build of his race, he appears younger.

Keltorek (Erudite), Conjuror, is 47 years old. As with most Erudites, he appears "agedrogenous".

Keltor (Kerra), Monk, has not revealed his age to anyone...yet.

Grindelwald (Dark Elf), is a 221 year old Necromancer. He tends to make "use" of those of lesser race that he has killed in distant years past. It's sort of a quirk. He buries his opponents, but in places only he knows, so he may retrieve them at his leisure years later, marking their skills in life in a notebook he keeps on his person. If he needs a skeletal wizard, he can find a skeletal wizard.

Rastis (Iksar), Berserker, is unsure of his age. He would estimate, by the counting of scales, that he is 36 years of age.

Keinard (Human), Dirge, Lady charmer, and Horror/Suspense playwright, is 42 if a man or ugly woman is asking. If you are a beautiful lady (especially High Elf), he is 26.

---Borlok

Considering the exceptional long lives of elves and therefore the duration they would be considered "children".. and my lore starts with Jethal as a boy a ways before Bloody Kithicor.. hmmm.. I think I can place Jethal's birth somewhere around 5236.. which would make him.. 730??

Each server was created at a different time. Even in EQlive, some among the original 12 servers that started with the game, there were often months between each server's creation in Beta. One thing I noticed about the time on each server was that it recycled itself through the same ten years. One gnome NPC in East Freeport even mentioned what year it was. I checked the /time at that time and knew it was just part of his dialogue, because it was 200 years off.
