Me and my friend are new EQ2 players and have not experienced Splitpaw dungeon. I was wondering if it would be a good idea for us to buy or if we should just skip it? Money is not really an issue for us since we both have work and all that. But is the content worth doing still? There has been so much new content released in the game maybe splitpaw just ain't worth it anymore? I also read some topics about the place being so nerfed that it pointless to spend time there - Truth or Whine? Thanks in advance, //Amee

Regarding the nerfing, I wouldn't say it was nerfed or not worth it, it's just that when it was released it was very good exp. They have since made it not as 'fast lvling' as it was. Harclave, which is still pretty fun on occasion, was very much a grind fest of leveling and a lot of people missed a lot of other content because it was slower to level outside of splitpaw. That is no longer the case. Is it worth getting? I still think it is a very good adventure pack and on occasion send an alt there. But it is very quiet so grouping probably won't happen. There is a plenty of content to lvl to 70 without ever touching it. If you are bored of what is available or you somehow have done everything in your lvl range and are grinding then it is prob worth getting IMO.

Splitpaw is definitely worth getting if you are under level 50.

Slitpaw is basically a gnoll town that acts as a quest hub for many different mission-based instances that are accessed around from the hub. These instances range from solo versions up to a raid at the end. You can get alot of neat stuff there. My berzerker has like 5 of the flaming hell-pig heads mounted on her wall in her house. You can also get a gem that will teleport you directly to Splitpaw and a gem that will cast Illusion: Gnoll on you. The instances scale in level with you up to 50.

It's a great option for those nights when you and a friend don't have alot of time for putting together or joining a full dungeon group or you just feel like soloing. With Splitpaw you'll always have something to do up to 50.

Personally I find splitpaw very useful.

A) I run harclave once per level, from 20 all the way to 70. Up until 50 it gives you atleast 10% exp per run, and at 68 it gives you about 3-5% exp.

B) TS call is very nice as a Neriak citizen, lets me get anywhere quickly.

I have to agree that the splitpaw port item makes the purchase worth it.

As for the Harclave instance, I truely had a LOT more fun in it back when the expansion first came out. The changes they made to make it much harder to complete have made it near impossible for me as a Necromancer to do the instance. As a solo instance, I find it rether annoying that the difficulty level is near impossible for me because of my character class. But, life goes on.

Basically, I bought the adventure pack, did the initial quest to gain access to the content, did the required quests to get the splitpaw portal item, and haven't gone back there since.

In addition to what others have sadi about the free port spell to TS there is also a mender in Splitpaw that is handy. I also like to use Harclave's at least once every 10 levels or so to top off my melee skills on casters that rarely use them anywhere else but in Harclave's.

The unique spells as well as the call ability... i say its worth it... SAME thing with Bloodline Chronicals... just for the Vampire specific Spells that exist in the quest line. The spell I got from Splitpaw, actually does more dmg than my t7 equivilent. The spells Grow with you. So yes, imo they are worth it.
