Hey all,

I started playing when the game came out but stopped after only 2 months due to playing other MMO's too much hehe. I've played DAoC, CoX, tried Vanguard, my main MMO atm is EVE online. Thing is I'm looking for a more 'normal' MMO again since you have no real avatar in EVE, it feels a bit detached. After trying Vanguard (still in it's beta it seems) I'm looking back at EQ2.

When I played the first time it was nice (although kinda hefty for the PC I had then) but groupdebt made me run away screaming, how is the game now, what use are the expansions, which ones do I need and which can I do without for now (I'll restart at lvl 1 since I'm a noob allover). Just a bit of insight on the game, what works and what's important would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Hello there,

Just purchase the "Echoes of Faydwer" boxed set... for one price you'll get EQ2, Desert of Flames expansion, Kingdom of Sky expansion and Echoes of Faydwer expansion.

There will not be a shortage of things for you to do... regardless of level.

They've tweaked how some things work but doubt that the game has changed hugely since your departure.

Stay safe,

(And if you go for a pvp server, debt has been removed altogether. ) Loot from heroics have been improved, combat system have been revamped. There are two skill trees on the side fo the normal spell progression of leveling. And oh yeah, we have pvp servers. (And dueling on pve servers). We have set gear (Although it takes a fair bit of time to get it). Better zone layout, and larger zones. The game has improved immensly over the last two years or so.

It sure has! The game caters to lots of playstyles - you will be able to have fun whether you're soloing, grouping or raiding. The EoF box set is definitely the best value for your money, you get everything but the Adventure packs. If you can't find the actual box, try this handy FAQ: Where Can I Buy EverQuest II Online?
