shield? 2h? im gonna cry

Ok so I just made an SK, I have originally only played a necro, brig, and assassin. I must say the SKs DPS so far makes me cry. I understand he is a tank, and is not supposed to be a DPS maniac like my brig and assassin, but . . . he hits like an infant with a crayola crayon. Does this change? Should I swap from my 1h/shield to a 2h? I do so love the shield bash.

THAT is when your dps will soar compared to the scouts.

am on a pvp server, dont really care about mobs hitting me, care about people. And how bout the 2h/ shield question >_<

T7 PvP parse for me in groups against groups i hit 500ish solo i hit anywhere from 150-800 depending on class.  As a Sk you want people hitting you and procking your reactive.  you will never be a dps machin in pvp your not even a prefered main tank for pvp.  Thats how the cookie crumbles.  As for 1h or 2h depends on what your hunting. most of the time iam 1h and off stance.

<p>an SK is a very effective PvP tank... very effective indeed.   put some points into decreasing resistability against your taunts... works wonders.</p><p>I do find it funny how much value people put on DPS still.  I can kill stuff with my sk that my brig cannot. It's because i outlast it... same goes for PVP, outlasting someone's burst then slowing killing them is often better than any burst dps you think you can have.  PT is great burst dps, on a 15 minute timer, I find it's almost always up for PVP... since its rare to find back to back fights.  against groups I've parsed 600-800 dps in PvP, because I'm dotting and mana shield, as well as my aoes and tap veins.</p><p>I run with a 2 hander if i'm not MT in a PvP group, only because my 1 hander sucks.. when I get a good 1 hander I'll roll with a shield 100pct of the time..  remember, your shield bash has a taunt on it too, so if you hit someone, they are now targetting you... perfect for PvP in a group.  plus it's a knockback/stun... in PvP those buy you a lot of time to get your ward back up.</p><p>I have a 70 berserker in some of the best gear in the game, and I can tell you without a doubt, my SK is a LOT more fun.. lots.  my zerker can do more dps, but can't survive as long as my sk...   dps doesn't win you fights unless you're a class that can really spike.  most cannot.  </p>

Dont get me wrong i love all aspecs of tanking.  I just hate that we are the one class that does not have a reactive taunt of some sort.  Pally=Amends Gaurd/zerk=dont knwo the name  brawlers=rumble.  They all have a free taunt.  Ushaly iam the last on in the group to die because of how long we can stand the beating.  just our lack of taunts makes it so iam easly replaces as a MT for pvp.

<p>we have a reactive taunt that works 100pct of the time... ?  read the description on nefarious caress.</p><p>doesn't work at all in PvP, but if it did, it'd be seriously overpowered..</p>

I was talking PvP for that sorry if i wasnt clear.  They could still put that on a % if we get hit in pvp will taunt lock for 3 sec thats all i ask for.  I hate tossing my group taunt and after the 3 sec lock is done theres no way to get them back on me untill its back up.

<p>our single target taunt is the most powerful one in PvP... just need to figure out who to put it on.</p><p>a taunt that causes the person you taunted to come back to you every 3 seconds.</p><p>that's nuts.</p>

it will proc 2 times and i dont think it will lock them they just target us,  No lock mean they just re target
