Basically me and my girlfriend are having the same issues i really dont understand with our systems eq 2 should run great on any settings and i have been reading that people with way lower end gear are running eq2 maxed out without a hitch except in raids our specs are basically the same except i am running windows vista ultimate and she is running windows xp pro our specs are as such....amd athlonx2 4200 am2 cpu 2 gigs corsair DDR2 800MHz xms Wd raptor hardrives asus m2n-sli deluxe motherboard evga 8800 gts 640 meg videocard non sli 600 watt power supplys lcd monitors running at 1280 x 1024 that should give you a idea.. we both are having lag issues low frame rates in the city and jerky graphics outside the citys and in the city's if we turn the graphics all the way down we dont have much of a problem but with our specs this is crazy eq 2 came out over 2 years ago we should be able to max it out can someone give me a idea why we are having these issues all drivers are current on both systems???

first set system to extreme Quality

then turn off environment shadows, no system can display max settings with environment shadows in a smooth framerate.

next for your system turn off character shadows and set dispayed characters with high polygons to <= 4

now you can max your Texture size and turn on 2xAA and 16xAF (Grafikdriver) will display much better textures.

athlon x2 4200 is not so good, go for Core2Duo

Its irrelevant if its an AMD X2 or Intel C2D as EQ2 isnt optimized for dual core, which is sad btw.

This seems to be a issue between EQ2 and the 8x00 series of cards. Lots of players have this stuttering (including me with my 8500GT). What I had to do to fix the majority of my stutters is turn off Complex Shaders (-1). Then I could turn everything else up a bit.
