I just got the all-in-one game from Amazon yesterday and because I had already downloaded the trial, it only took about 45 minutes to get the whole thing up and running! I made a high elf ranger on the Antonia Bayle server and even had a chance to group with a cute Froglok last night to complete some newbie quests. I think I'll like this much better than I liked the old EQ.

Only one question though--where can I get a game manual without printing out the one here on the website? The box only had a quick start guide. I'd like something better to reference for learning merchant skills, etc.

It was out of date when I started playing nearly 2 years ago.

Welcome to the game!!!

Basically there is no printed publication with all the up to date info. The game gets updated very often so any publication would be out of date before it even got printed.

Your best bet really is get your information from these forums or other sites such as eq2i.com, eq2.allakhazam.com and others

There are no detailed printed manuals. There is an old eq2 book on the market, but it's pretty basic too. The online manual only has basic info. You'll get good info from the forum channels here, and a few web sites are good too: http://eq2i.com/ http://eq2.allakhazam.com/

The manual that came with the original game was out of date at launch, to give you an idea of how well they were able to keep up with changes. Sounds like they decided to forgo the idea of a printed manual, which is a good thing given how much the game has changed and continues to change.
