Ok, so i want to roll an alt pvp character. Im looking for a class that can solo well, and be effective in groups, so a warden poped in my mind. From the information that i gather most people say that wardens are "overpowerd" which seems to be a compliment. I would greatly appreciate someone giving me some info on wardens and PvP, Pros and cons, classes they own...classes that own you, why a warden Vs a Fury....tactics, and so on.

        Thanks.

Wardens are good for duels because of our nice Mit buffs, strong heals, and we have the best rots in the game. I don't have a warden on PvP but i can give ya info based on dueling in PvE.

Wardens can hold their own very well. Quick rundown of each class:

Mages... Very easy due to our high resists and Exhaltation of the Untamed (elemental ward and resists boost)

Healers... well watching grass grow is more entertaining cuz i have dueled shaman and clerics for 45 mins... eventually we gave up because no one was gaining head-way

Fighters... Only fighter class you will have trouble with is Sk's, they are pretty much another 45 min healer duel. Other fights just slap on sandstorm/duststorm and heal thru the damage.

Scouts... Scouts are more tricky but do-able, start off with serentiy to prevent stuns off the bat because that is what they do, then use your ancient sylph for the instant root, then throw on your other roots and start nuking with them at a good distance (prolly 20m), the only scout you do not want to range is a ranger, you actually wanna root them in place and move right in front of them so they cannot use their bow. One thing to keep in mind is use your dogs on scouts, scouts can invis while dotted with glacial cold but the dogs will prevent them from going invis

Hope this helps out a bit.

Wow..I wish I was overpowered. "Overpowered" in PvP almost always means 'you can kill me' or 'it's impossible to oneshot gank you'...and dammit, those pesky healers keep NOT dying.

I've got a 25 PvP warden on Venekor with 37 AA's.

If I recall correctly, I've AA maxed out my root, snare, and sow (first priority), although with GU36 and root nerfs, and GU37 and the purchase of 48% horse, I just may give up AAs on this back page altogether.

On the druid page, I'm going down the sta and int lines. I love the sta debuff the most for PvP - muhaha "You have removed Protector of the Forest from OpposingHealer".

I've also got a full stable of tradeskillers and spent a lot of time deciding which adornments to go with. Then I spent a lot of time finding Legendary gear to transmute and have tons of rare adornments and backup weapon/adorn combinations depending on what's happening.

If I'm out alone, I usually take tiger or winter wolf form and equip my scimitar with the + crit dmg adorn. I can quickly switch to the morning star with + heal crit if I'm jumped and then over to the short sword with the power suck adorn once I've located the opposing group's healer.

If I'm in a group, it's treant form and the morning star. Again, I can switch to the short sword while we take down the healer and by this time, I usually move back to the scimitar.

This being said, PvP is usually very fast action and sometimes I don't have time to think about switching.

I've got 2 [steel idols] with the + cold dmg adorn equipped, but think I might make myself a shield with the vs physical dmg adornment on it for grouping as I seem to often be the main target - go figure lol.

As for melee specing... well, I love being able to take things down, but I believe my primary role is healer. Also, a new warden started asking me about this one day and we spent a considerable amount of time looking at the CA descriptions vs my Spells and, although the damage from the CAs is quick, it's not really more and the reuse timers were a bit longer. So, rather than spend a lot of points getting other versions of things I already have and not being a healer anymore [like, um er, most furies I know], I concentrated on the debuff and whatever (sorry can't remember atm) was in the int line, however with GU37 respect, I'm pretty sure I'll max the debuff in the sta line, and put 8 points into int and wis.

In PvP, gear and spell upgrades (ie: twinking) are not necessarily more important than skill. BUT if you aren't twinked, you'll die and die often. I usually don't have too many problems with white or yellow con enemies and can immediately tell if they're not twinked by how much initial dmg I get or give. I often don't have problems with a duo either. Where I run into problems is groups of 3 or more conning yellow or higher and a group of 6 greys - rofl.

I think in the case of wardens, "overpowered" is a compliment. And not all wardens are overpowered. Today, my 16 warden, who doesn't have any masters or adornments yet, was atk'd by a 14 Destroyer warden and his 16 Monk and he couldn't keep his tank alive for very long and the only reason he stayed alive is that he sprinted away - I refuse to waste my power chasing runners as it never works. I usually chase anyways, and broadcast on the appropriate channel that someone is zoning in with no power and half health, but I don't bother chasing across zone lines.

I think my biggest problems are in groups when mages charm me and I start wandering around aimlessly, or, in one case, atk'd one of my group members.

My other biggest problems are with pick up groups where everyone has their own agenda and don't know the meaning of the phrase MT. But unlike PvE, if you draw aggro, I'll try to heal you even though my group heals are expensive power-wise.

I have recently rolled a Warden on a Pvp server. Its very very low level around 12 but I am a bit worried about the dps. Fights in Pve take a very long time for things to die, with only 2 damage spells it a lot of waiting for cooldowns. I assume that this will change but when? Our heals are great and I can "tank" damage pretty well but I am concerned the low dps will make fight insane long in Pvp. Maybe I should just get to 20+ before I start to worry?

If you want more dps, you probably want something different than a healer - Warden or no. At level 12, no one...not even a DPS class really has 'insane dps'. And at level 12, Wardens aren't really Wardens. At least not in all the glory that you are reading about here with end-game Wardens solo face-pwning.

If you want a decent melee class with good dps, excellent mitigation, avoidance and a heal - I'd say roll a monk or bruiser. If you want to stick with Warden, either take what you have, or level up to at least 25, then lock.

As far as what class is 'best' for PvP...that would be so hard to advise, since it's incredibly subjective. I leveled a Defiler to 70 on a pvp server...but I don't mind a support role, running with a group, and I always had one. What specifics will you have? Will you solo much? What kind of PvPing do you want to do? Big group fights? Are you specifically pvping? Or are you playing the underlying game with the pvp element thrown in?

It's impossible to say which class is 'best' for PvP without knowing those things, I think.
