Ok, this is purely my opinion, but I'd like to see how other people feel about it. For those of us who played EQ1 back in the day, we can remember when Ruins of Kunark was added to the game. I personally fell in love with the Iksar, being a huge lore fan, and still don't think I've read all the lore that the Iksar have. I've recently found my old Kunark manual, and looking through it brings back a lot of memories. Now on to the reason for this post. I've been thinking about the way the Iksar race has looked over the years, and would like to talk about it. At first, they looked rather awesome, very much what one would think of when imagining them. They had a somewhat silvery/blue/grey color to their scales, with a lighter tan sort of color down the front. They were very draconic appearance about them, with their long "snouts" and bony ridge around their head. Then Luclin launched, and with it new models. The Iksar were suddenly a lot different. Their scales were a lot darker, except the chest that went from tan to a light version of their original scale color. The males heads were suddenly some sort of weird, pseudo sphere. However, with the greater detail the overall body shape and tails were improved. Now we have EQII. At first they looked almost strange, with their bright yellow fronts. Since they got new scale patterns, that can be changed of course. My biggest problem here though is their face/head area. The females lost their bony plate/painting, and got the frills, which isn't too bad. The males look like they're somewhere in between the two original models. It's like they went for the longer face, but then they ran into walls and squished their noses in. So my question, would anyone else prefer to go back to the original, longer male faces, that look more dragon/dinosaur than human in reptile skin? The females going back to the original bony plate/painting scheme? Overall getting back more of a greyish tone to their scales? Are there other people out there who feel like this or am I just some crazy guy with a bit of nostalgia?

I dont want the modles all changed all back to how they used to be in EQ1. But I would like to see an optoin to be able to customize the head to make it look more like and eq1 iksar if we wanted to look more like an iksar form eq1. More customizatoin is alwasy wellcome. I liked the sorta bone shild they had on the front of there for head in eq1 with the spikes around it it looked very cool. But I do like the iksar in eq2 i love the customization. If they added more that would be awesome.

I actually rather prefer the EQ2 female iksar to the EQ1 version (especially the luclin version). The only thing I miss is the face paint, and hopefully one day when they decide to add more options for all the races they'll add that back in.

I do feel the male iksar needs a little work in the snout area but other than that greatly prefer how the body looks. I have seen some male iksar with better looking faces. I've never really played with how the males look myself, and my account is full so =).

I really only think that the EQ2 iksar need more customization options (then I think that for all EQ2 races =) ).

I honestly like the way they look on EQ2 now... nothing wrong at all with them IMO. I do think they should add even more scale patterns though. I'd like to see one that is like the EQ1 silverish-bluish with a tan underbelly but on the EQ2 model and maybe a gila monster one. Face paint would be cool too, but other than that I think they are fine the way they are.

Oh sheesh, ive been saying this since launch. I absolutely dispise the squashed snout look on the male Iksar. its awful. They're supposed to be lizard men.. i really ope they get a new model that has a long snout. I hate the flat faced look right now.. Go look at the Iksar in the original Kunark box art.. thats how i imagine Iksar. They need to LOOK like lizards, with long snouts / muzzles. I like the females, however.

Iksar females in EQ2 are only missing the face paint, then they would be perfect. I don't think there is anything they could do to them to make them better with regards to shape.

The males, well, their heads are too small. It isn't necessarily that their snout is squished it is just that the head size compared to their shoulders make them look like they've found themselves on the wrong end of a hex spell. If the head size was adjusted and the nose options could elongate the snout a bit then I think they'd be great.

I hated the "Teenage Mutant Ninja" Iksar models that came with Luclin. They took an upright standing noble race and turned them into hunch backed psuedo lizards. They were far too bulky and lost a lot of the sleekness that made them so cool to begin with.

I LOVE the iksar in EQ2. its one of the reasons i play it over EQ1 nowadays. that said, each iksar model variant in the EQ universe has its own advantages. Classic EQ1 iksar had the best armor, period. their chainmail was amazing, especially velious era chain. the velious custom helm graphic was also very fitting for the race. They also looked respectable, and had good animations. Luclin EQ1 iksar.....are awful. there is no way around it, especially with the females. the only reason my iksar SK uses luclin models at all is because of the horse buffs requiring luclin models. EQ2 iksar look the best, in terms of design. their armor looks like everyone else's aside from the helmets, but cant be helped, they have a different cranial structure. i love the frilliks on the female iksar, and the scale colors to choose from are much better than just being the bland color of the luclin EQ1 models. I am also a big fan of the crest specification on EQ2 iksar. i just hope the new EQ1 iksar models that are coming out eventually, will be a perfect mix between the structure of the EQ2 iksar, and the armor of pre-luclin Eq1. =x

I would like to see more customization with Iksar faces. I personally wouldn't like to see them go back to the older model's style though as I feel their appearance is appropriate for the lore, etc. I do think they need more scale patterns... many more. I would like to see them have as many scale pattern choices as Fae and Arasai have wing choices - I think this would be an ample enough amount to allow for recognition.

I hope that when Kunark is released, we get a couple more options to change the way iksars look. If only a couple of new scale patterns. Edit: Oops, and on topic, I think iksars look fine for the most part, but it would be nice if there were more color variants we could get access to, especially through different scale patterns. Right now, color choice is based on just being an iksar, instead of what scale pattern you choose, which is lame. >:( It would also be nice if we could get some more crests which add shape to the snout.

I didn't much care for EQ1 Iksar looks when compared to EQ2. Besides, I heard somewhere that "todays" Iksar are actually a bit "evolved" from the EQ1 version, which was some length of time ago in Norrath's history.

However, I do not really like the female Iksar models entirely. They are a bit too thin. Their arms and shoulders sit too far back, IMHO, and their necks are a bit stubby and weak looking to support such a large head. With their physical set up, they would actually have difficulty -walking- up right. Their legs and hips are actually a little too "bowed" to make it comfortable for them.

The males I like. I think a bit of work could be done on the snout area, and I hope they give us body sliders with the skeletal changes, but over all I am happy with the male Iksar models, which is why I play one of those and not a female Iksar
