Having a tough time leveling at 40...

Whats a good way/place to level at 40? I'm trying to get to 70 as fast as I can, and I've been killing mobs over and over to 40, with a few quests here and there. Now, its slowed down a lot. Killing a mob 3 levels higher than me only gives around 0.2%... Whats a good way to level at this tier quickly?

<p>Depends on what you mean by "quickly".  If you want to group, do RE until 42 or 43, move on to CT, then PF.  If you want to solo, do quests in Steamfont and Ferrott until mid 40s, then move on to the DoF quests (eq2i.com has a great soloing timeline that is extremely helpful in this regard).</p><p>I chose the latter option on my Coercer and it took me about a month to go from 40 to 50 playing around 10 hours a week.  I'm sure you could do it faster in a group though, but I like the XP and AA you get from questing personally.</p>

<p>Grinding XP on solo encounters will always be slow. Trying concentrating on quests, for the XP reward and AP XP, and/or grouping to fight heroic encounters. For best XP and odds at winning loot drops, I recommend a trio on same level or +1 ^^^'s.  Larger groups can take on tougher encounters and resolve encounters faster (so they can fight more encounters in the same amount of time) but each additional member takes their piece of the XP pie and reduces the chances of you winning a loot drop.</p><p>Why is getting to level 70 "as fast as you can" your goal?</p>

Do you ever group?  I find the best way to exp grind is in a good group.  I cannot remember exactly but I think I was hitting up Cazic Thule in my 40s or maybe deep inside Runnyeye for early 40s.  I would hit up your 40-49 chat channel and look for a good exp group if you don't have guildies to group with.

<p>RE goblins near the instances are a very good way to level up quickly at level 40+. The mobs are in their upper 30's and they spawn in big groups that can be aoe'd with a nice group. You can run around the bottom from named spot to named spot in an un-ending loop, getting good loot and great xp till you get tired or your group has to go. Once you are into 42-43, CT is the place to be. Do the top of the temple until you get to 45, and then you can venture into the bottom, but don't go too far. </p><p>At 40, you should also try Steamfont. The quests there give a good chunk of xp, and they are very fun. Once you hit 45, you can try Klak, but again, don't go too far in. The respawns are quick enough that your group shouldn't compain, and you can get descent xp. </p>

Whats a good way to level at this tier quickly? </blockquote><p> It's really hard to level at certain points in the game.  Usually happens between level 47-50, 58-60 and 68-70.  Best thing to do is find places that offer great experiences where you can kill mobs quickly.  </p><p>For 47-50 I recommend SS doing solo mobs either in the little orc camp near the docks or the skeleton snakes.  They can give great xp and if you get a group going you can do Permafrost or the few instanced zones in SS.  </p><p>Dealing with 56-60 I recommend Tenebrous Tangle doing the quests up there either waiting till 56 or doing them when you reach 52 depending upon your class.  Breeding Grounds is a great place to earn serious xp if your 56-60.  </p><p>Sadly 66-70 will be the hard to level since xp can slow down to a crawl at this point.  Basically you'll be relying on instanced zones more than regular zones.  Halls of Fate, OOB, Court of Innovation and CoV are good spots that will get you great xp along with massive AA experience.  </p><p>Other than that all I can say is quests, quests, quests and more quests. TT has a slew of quests and I gained atleast 4 levels doing the quests from the frogloks, barrel quests, and part of the Claymore line.  </p>

Thanks for the tips guys, I'm going to try grouping more. And the reason for me wanting to get to 70 quickly is that I'm on a PvP server, and am interested in T7 PvP, rather than questing or lower level PvP.
