Would there be any way to create/develope a quest that a Level 70 crafter of any type could start working an entirely new tradeskilling line? This could be something that say an Armorer would have to complete all the Outfitter classes before moving on to the other sets. At the completion of all 9 major crafting classes, the title Master Crafter could be granted with anything that they craft recieve extra bonus' in addition to what the item already has?

I actually like that idea to be honest It would negate the tradeskill changes recently implemented, but it makes a lot of sense. People in the past (myself included) have mentioned being able to have more than one tradeskill on one character. Currently the way around this is to create alts of varying trades, but it can be difficult for some to maintain. Crafting titles, in my honest opinion, would be a really nice thing to have. There are already titles out there for adventurers, but if my memory serves me, there aren't any for crafters. Anyone else?

Come to think of it, you could even add in the "Apprentice X" at different levels so people would know.

Kinda like we had in EQ1.

Edit:

This is a good idea. Something to make it worth while for those crafters striving to reach the "Master Crafter" status would be to maybe give a mini bonus once the crafter completed a set of skills... ie craftsman, outfitter, scholar. For that status maybe give a title like "Journeyman Craftsman" "Journeyman Scholar" "Journeyman Outfitter" along with a mini bonus to add to the items they craft from the series completed. For the mini ding the bonus could be like an additional amount of bonus (as an example the item gives +5int, +5wis, +60vs mental, +60vs disease when crafted by a normal crafter, the Journeyman would give an additonal +2int, +2wis, +20vs mental, +20vs disease).

Once the crafter has finally reached the coveted "Master Crafter" they would give like a +5 or +10 to the normal stats the item normally gives plus the crafter would have a choice of additional bonuses to add to the item which could be determined by a set of items given to the "Master Crafter" after completing a final quest to obtain the items. The items could be equipped in the charm slot and would determine the additional bonus given to the items plus the additon to the normal stats.

Well one I'm quite sure there are crafter titles able to be bought from the Ironforge exchange and the freeport trade coalition or whatever its called. Now I think it would be nice to be able to have multiple tradeskills somewhat but if it was going to be done at all in my opinion it should only allow expansion of all three skills coming of the craft Archetype. For example a person who took up outfitting could be an armourer, weaponsmith and provisioner. I'd like that because I wouldn't have to bug my friend to make my weapons when an alt levels into the next tier. Problem is though under the current system used in EQ2 I get a strange feeling that it will never happen. As to the master crafter giving bonuses to item argument I say BAAADD . Example Mr level 70 Armourer gets his little bonuses. My level 40 Armourer goes to make some T3 armour which he still even gets exp off and so he can make a bit of money, or even just help a mate out. His armour though is now pointless in comparison because a level 70 fellow has some bonuses on his. Instant market killer as the ability and quality of the gear becomes unbalanced. A bonus like the one you said sounds good at first, horrible at second in my opinion.

I think they should just scrap crafting professions altogether and replace them with skills a la transmuting and tinkering, only allow each character to level up in any or all of the 9 skills.
