I will hit level 20 tommorow with just one more Crushbone quest to complete.

Trying to figure out which zone to hit next. I don't want to go back and do the old lands. I did those a million times when I played over a year ago.

However, I haven't received any "hint" quests telling me to go to another zone. Someone in game said Butcherblock might have level 20-ish content.

Ooh, yes. Butcherblock's your game after you've cleared the earlier levelled areas, without question. There's so much to do there, so many things to pummel into submission... ~Gnobrin!

its a heroic zone. Not a raid zone. It does have the Boogubolloo (sp?) a x4 epic in it but they fixed the bug where you could zone in more than 6 players to kill it.

While we're on the subject of choosing zones, I would like to know if cross-faction questing is possible. For example, can my evil warlock do quests in BBM or TS? Would she be able to interact with NPC's, or would the guards kill her on sight? What about higher-level zones and dungeons? Do both factions ultimately merge into common zones?

Make your way to the docks.

I came to butcher block myself at 23 or 24. There's plenty of solo content there! By the docks you should find a few quests for that level range, and there's a quest line near the Greater Fay entrance as well. Eventually both will sned you to Fort Iron Toe in the middle. If you are having trouble though, getting a level or two somewhere else (TS maybe? ) couldn't hurt. But don't pass up on it completely, I've enjoyed leveling there immensely.

The Dwarves in BBM area are neutral by default. So, as a result, you can go and do the quests that're available to you at 20th lvl. You'll have quests available to you around the Docks area, the "Fort" area in the middle of the map area (where more dwarves are located) and finally just right outside (yet still in BB) the Gfay zoneline at a small Dwarf encampment. There a few other random quests scattered throughout the zone as you level up, so don't be afraid to explore around and talk to people there. You should easilly be able to hit 35th lvl by the time you're done with BBMountain area. From there, you go to Steamfont (among other areas).

I personally like to hit up the armor quests when I hit 20. They are in qeynos or freeport and it's nice to get a matching suit of armor....the only one you'll have until end game unless you buy crafted most likely.

I think bbm is best done at about 23-25 because if you just do the quests you'll quickly run out of quests you can reasonably complete while soloing at 20.

I like Nek at 20ish, the line with the fp militia and the solo line on near the hidden beach path.
